So grateful for these guys. Here in the US we’re very limited with online places to buy Carp gear. The prices are amazing (when you create an account to show you’re outside the Uk and their taxes). It would be nice to see in dollars but adding 20% quick math isn’t the end of the world.
Shipping is extremely reasonable but the big difference is it comes FedEx air. I’ve made probably 20 orders over the last 4 years and had Zero issues and it arrives in days. Fastest was 2 days!, to the west coast, typically 4.
Assistance is unparalleled. I’ve called (accounting for the time difference) and the staff are extremely passionate about carp fishing and happily share advice. When buying rods and reels they gave me honest opinions and options.
After the sale, this is where they stand on top of a mountain. I bought a solar net here from a newer supplier that claims to have a ‘make it right’ approach. My spreader block broke leaving the net useless. I reached out to my US store and they didn’t have one but assured me they would get one from Solar as it was a warranty item and get it to me. I’m still waiting! I mentioned it while talking about rods with Johnson Ross and one showed up with my order in 3 days.
I hate to say this about Solar as I have loved their quality for decades the bow lite spreader block isn’t their greatest work. The replacement Johnson Ross was kind enough to get for me failed, so 2 in 12mths. I went back to the selling US dealer asking for help and showing the previous email. I also said I never received the one you promised but I’m in the situation again what can be done. Apparently after a carp show 2 months out he’d order his stuff and hope to receive 1 for me. I’m not going to lie I felt bad even asking JR for help but it was that or take up noodling:). No questions, just apologies! Are you real? Anthony insisted on calling Solar himself to find a solution. He came back and offered a spreader block from the model above at a tiny charge I was more than happy to pay. I woke up to the shipped email this morning and it’s already getting on a plane.
I am blown away. Thank you guys.
