Being English and having had fish and chips since a being a child it’s safe to say I’ve got a fairly good idea of what good and bad fish and chips are.

The chips here were not “bad” but they just weren’t “chip shop” chips.

The portion was good and the price was good but the chips just weren’t what you’d expect from a British chip shop.

The other issue is cash only…in 2025? I can’t be sure why this is the case but I can definitely think of one reason.

Read the reviews but thought I'd have lunch of fish n chips for lunch after a long drive. We'll the chps were crispy and a large portion. The fish was fresh white with lovely batter. I tried the pickled onions and gherkins and was not disappointed. I can honestly say that's the best fish n chips I've had in a long while. Guess I'm used to London offerings . The best bit was that it was cooked to order and piping hot. Gold star from me. Wish I had a local like that.

The three young people working every Saturday night were bullying the two cooks who do an amazing job. They didn't care that there were customers in there and very really horrible to the cooks.
Last time I visited, the young people were rude and made fun of me as I walked in.
I'll never visit again.
The food tastes amazing but the customer service is disgusting.
