Huddleston Butchers is a not so hidden gem but can nonetheless get overlooked by many folks who would visit the more tourist friendly restaurants nearby in the town centre. This place is a not a hole in a wall kind of establishment, but relatively people may miss this shop if you don't give another look.

Luckily I did and I am thankful. I saw couple of folks lining up to buy their hot pies and rolls and that got my interest piqued. We tried their award winning beef potato pie and it was one of the best pies I have had in UK. Usually when I had pies the crusts mostly disappoint me. But here the crust was flaky yet crisp. Not too thick it makes it hard to cite nor it was too thin that it breaks apart when I hold it. The filling was also top notch and I can see why it got the awards.

Anyways they got other pies too but we never had the time to try. The shop is open only till 3pm so do ensure you go in as early as you can to grab one of their hot pies.

I asked the owner whether his pork pies were as nice as he claimed they were. He said better. I bought one and he was right. It was excellent.

Top quality establishment. Friendly service. The pies. Let me get started on the pies. Imagine a melting pot of beautiful beefy flavours encased in smooth buttery pastry. Heaven in a mouthful. The best value for money pie in not just the Lake District but the whole country. Proper English pies from a proper top notch establishment.

The best Grafters Pasty we ever had. The fillings are so delicious and full of beef. The Jamaican Jerk ribs was tender. Great service too. Amazing. Will be back when in lake district.

Great butchers in the centre of Windermere,steak pie , cheese pie and pork pies excellent, only went for the pork pies but tried the steak pie and wish I had brought more home, superb.

We spent last week in Bowness on Windermere and visited Huddleston's every day they were open.we bought,meat and potato pies,pork pies,jerky chicken, Indonesian chicken, sausages,treacle bacon, belly pork,and minted lamb shanks to take home.Everything was of Superb quality served by two knowledgeable people.Will return when in the area again 😋😋

THE BEST Pie (steak) I have ever had in my life!
Family also tried had steak and stilton pie and sausage roll and pork pie all amazing and the absolute best we have ever eaten! 5 stars!
