I've just moved into Hoylake and what a treasure this place is. A unique fishmongers, Hoylake's gain, the rest of the planet's loss. On my visit, I bought 4 Manx kipper fillets and a whole black bream. Is the fish fresh? I swear the black bream winked at me as it hit the pan. Cooked in olive oil with nothing more than a twist of salt and a squeeze of lemon, it was one of the nicest fish I have ever tasted. The two staff that served me in the shop were delightful. Why go to a fish and chip shop? Buy a fish from here, wack it in a pan (bread-crumbed, battered, panko-ed, whatever) and the fish will be ready to eat, delicious beyond description, before you got to the front of the queue in the chippy. Very highly recommend.

This is a real family business dedicated to providing great quality seafood with friendly service. They are a great asset to our local community never closing their doors throughout this pandemic.
Going into the shop is a real joy. Elaine and Dawn are knowledgeable and competent in every aspect of their work as well as being friendly and caring of their customers. Last Friday I bought a freshly dressed crab and some monkfish which I wrapped in parma ham and grilled. It was so delicious I went back on Saturday and bought the same things They have a great range of fresh fish, shellfish and quality frozen products. Their large frozen cooked prawns are outstanding. Sometimes in their window I see some exciting surprises. I recently bought a perfectly cooked whole lobster A wonderful treat when not going out to dine!. In these difficult times we must support our High Street shops. If you enjoy fresh fish you will love this shop!
