Fantastic tour today with tour guide Chris. Really informative, didn’t feel rushed at all, and plenty of sampling at the end. Definitely worth a couple of hours. The gift shop has a wide selection of local beers, wines and spirits, as well as local food and beauty items. The free museum upstairs is also worth a visit if you’re interested in the local history.

Lovely traditional cafe grub in a converted malt house attached to the venerable traditional brewery of the same name, which is still in operation. Had the Master Brewer’s Breakfast, a traditional English amped up with black pudding. Free-flow tea available as an add-on. Delicious, hearty food in nice industrial-chic surroundings.

The Museum was Fantastic!! Some stuff refurbished, some items in there natural state, like the bottle filler, looks like they just pulled it off the filling floor!!! The gift shop was also beautifully laid out, had wine and spirits and great architecture… An absolute must see!! The actual Buildings are show stoppers!!!! The windings and clock workings were amazing!!!

We went on the tour with Monty our tour guide. He was not only informative but entertaining as well. Coming from Canada it was wonderful to get a peak inside the history of beer making in Britain. I would highly recommend this tour.

This is one of the most unique breweries I have visited. The guide, Peter, was very knowledgeable about both the long history but also the brewing process. Fascinating tour if you would like to see how things were done before the age of automation.

Really decent pub grub, in a lovely setting. It was very quiet at 3pm on a Thursday, but the staff were very attentive and helpful. The range of food is mostly traditional 'pub grub' but the quality is high. I loved my Hooky cider so much that I bought a case of it!
The brewery buildings are outstandingly beautiful, and quite architecturally interesting.
Sadly we had no time for a tour but we took a look at some of the dray horses (that apparently still deliver ales etc in the local areas), while my father chatted merrily with the staff.
Recommended!
