After an initial consultation which went well, I paid HET for a feasibility report, with the agreement from them that they would produce a plan within the budget I said I had (they claim to work within budget). They came back with a proposal that almost doubled the cost. This was misleading and their report felt like a waste of time and money. It's worth noting I ended up getting the same work done by another contractor, whose costs came in comfortably within the original budget. When I contacted them about this they aggressively claimed they were able to meet my budget requests, despite the written quotes I was given to the contrary.
EDIT: In response to your reply, it’s absolutely untrue that I didn’t raise any concerns over the initial predicted costs. I made it clear that they were outside my budget and told you (for a second time, first time at initial enquiry) what it was, then went ahead on that mutual understanding.
Your costs were not reduced at the presentation. I walked away with quotes even higher than your original predicted costs, you didn't even fall within them, so again your response is untrue.
If I made an error it was in not complaining sooner. It wasn’t until I found another contractor and had the work completed successfully and on budget that it really struck me what a waste it had been getting you involved.

We used HET for both design and Project Management for an extension to the back of the house. Service was very good and with the contract being based on fixed price milestones we knew where we were with our budget all way through the process.

Communication could have been better at times when certain tasks went overdue or questions were raised but overall we were happy with the service that HET provided.

I asked HET to design and Project Manage a single storey extension at the back of the house. Through each stage they were extremely professional and approachable. Communication was excellent as the Project Manager visited regularly; the builder was friendly, efficient, and very tidy! I would highly recommend Het.

PLEASE AVOID! I agree with the other negative reviews below. Initial sales stage went well, however, the project management was very poor and at times, non existent. We were forced to project manage it ourselves. HET made several major mistakes which resulted in our planning permission being refused. Subsequently they then cut off all communication and ignored our calls, voicemails and emails. In the end we then simply asked for a copy of the plans to enable us to source new builders to finish the project. They refused by not responding. 18 months later they then sent threatening letters for an amount of £600. As you can see from their responses to all previous negative reviews, they will simply deny all knowledge. However, if people would like any more details, please contact me directly. I don’t normally post reviews online, however, after their consistent unprofessionalism and lack of ownership over their projects, I felt a moral obligation to warn people of how bad this company is.

After my father in law passed away we were left with the decision of what to do with his 1950s bungalow, Michelle visited us and discussed design options with a view to modernise and extend the property. Although in the end we decided not to keep the property and proceed with the work, we couldn't recommend Michelle highly enough, she was not only very professional, efficient and produced work to a high standard but was equally very friendly, approachable and flexible.
If we were ever to carry out any work in the future we would not hesitate to speak to Michelle again.

Very unsatisfactory experience with HET. The initial sales correspondence and meetings went very well, however, once we were roped in, there was hardly any communication with them. When we questioned the huge jump in price from their initial quote, they ignored any correspondence with us. We didn't understand why they stopped communicating as all we were asking was to explain what their costs were. It was as if they had completely lost interest. We have not heard from them in months. I do not recommend them. Communication was also bad whilst the plans were being drawn up by them
