Spent our Xmas again this year at Hogarths . Had the most wonderful time. Service, food, facilities were second to none. The staff were so pleasant and so well organised and nothing was too much trouble . They looked after us from start to finish. Have spent Xmas there a few times over the years but this was the best ever. Wonderful hotel and is very local to us so we do use this on a regular basis. Easy topark, great atmosphere so what more could you want. Rooms were lovely and clean . Well done to you all and a big thank to Laura for organising it all for us.

This is our 6th time visiting Hogarths for a family Christmas Eve lunch. This year’s visit was exceptional, from the moment we arrived to the end. The food was fantastic, served promptly with no issues at all. We were looked after very well by all the team. Special mention to Emma for looking after us today, she is a credit to the hotel. Just facilitated a 2 day programme here and can’t recommend it highly enough. Every single member of staff was incredibly warm, helpful and upbeat. Nothing was too much bother. Room was lovely. Grounds delightful. Plus, I’ve had a lot of buffet lunches at a lot of hotels over the years - and this was by FAR the best I have ever experienced. Thank you!

Thank you to everyone who made our Christmas stay special. The staff were all happy, friendly and helpful, the rooms were immaculately clean and the food was delicious. A special thank you to Laura, who arranged our Christmas sleepover and to Wayne who was always bubbly and welcoming. We recently had our second Christmas party at Hogarths Hotel and it was absolutely fab! The staff went above and beyond to make it a special event, and Jake deserves a special mention for his outstanding service, warm hospitality and consistent attention!

The bedrooms were beautiful—stylish, clean, and so inviting. The bed was super comfy, the best night’s sleep after all the celebrations!

Thank you for such a memorable experience. Same again next year!

We decided to book Hogarth’s for our family pre-Christmas get-together as we mistakenly thought that it would be a special experience… how wrong we were! ||Upon arrival, we were told that our table was not ready and to wait in the bar. Rather than escort us to a table that was appropriate for 10 people (two of them elderly) we were left hovering around a table for 3 and told to wait there. We were not offered a drink which ought to be an obvious thing to do in the circumstances. Instead, my husband went to the bar and had to wait for the servers to complete all of the tasks on their orders before he was even acknowledged. He was sitting there for a good 10 minutes pretty much ignored. The joke of it was the restaurant was not particularly busy at the time we arrived, and so I have no idea why we had to wait 20 mins for the table to be set up for us. We were finally taken to the table without so much of an apology. We then noticed that all of the other tables had Christmas crackers on them and that ours didn’t and so we pointed this out to our waiter -he seemed most put out that he would have to rectify this. I couldn’t care less about a Christmas cracker but it just highlighted the poor attitude of the staff when we asked for something (that we shouldn’t really need to be asking for) They were just so unfriendly and unwelcoming, we were made to feel like an inconvenience and that everything was too much trouble for them. So for example, the starter of smoked haddock rillete - was average at best - completely unseasoned but as smoke haddock is quite flavoursome it was edible but it came with three broken bits of cracker presented in a bowl of stones which was very bizarre. When I asked for more crackers rather than the waitress saying yes of course I will get you some more crackers she said I will need to ask the chef and proceeded to go away and never return so I guess that was a no then!!! we had no sooner finished our starters then four main meals were presented and plonked down in front of us, with us having to quickly move our own starter plates out of the way to accommodate the main meals. It promptly turned out that this was an error and it was another tables order in which case the waitresses came tearing over snatched the food back off us and barked at us have you touched that?! As if it was our fault!!! The cheek of it! Our main meals finally arrived and they were very underwhelming, dry turkey, a tiny sprig of broccoli, 3 over done roasties, I asked for more veg and was charged for it! Anyway all in all it was a shockingly bad experience. We will never return and do not recommend.

A huge thank you to everyone at Hogarths who were involved in the planning and delivery of our Golden Wedding anniversary event in early December.
We set out with help from our Event Planner (Laura) to create something very special for around 60 guests. Laura had lots of ideas and suggestions and channelled our thoughts to create an excellent plan for a lunch time event, extended into the evening. We were able to block book bedrooms so that we and many of our guests could stay overnight.
On the day, our Event Director (Jorge) welcomed us and allowed us early access to set up our balloons and photos. The room setup needed a few things tuning but nothing was too much trouble. A huge thank you to the staff for getting the Music Room to look perfect and ready for the arrival of our guests.
After a drinks reception with canapes, lunch was served, followed by cutting the cake and later evening food. Laura's suggestion of including a dance floor came into its own when the adverse weather conditions prohibited the younger children from working off their excess energy outside!
Jorge oversaw delivery of a high quality event and any issues were dealt with quickly, especially given the challenges in the rest of the hotel (wind damage to the roof, a tree down on the entrance road and having to cope with a large party when the marquee was not able to be used).
Our guests were effusive in their praise for the room and its decor, for the quality of the food and for the friendliness of the staff, who delivered high quality service.
Many of our guests stayed overnight and were delighted with their luxurious overnight accomodation and a sumptuous full English breakfast the following morning.
Thank you again to the staff who we met and to all those behind the scenes who we didn't. You all made our day very special!

Celebrated our baby's baptism with a little party here. 30 people. Taylor and Erin could not have been more helpful when organising. Jorge and Jake were the most accommodating front of house team. The food was exquisite. I can't say enough good things. Some of our group had particular dietary needs, some people didn't turn up and others turned up with out an RSVP. Team Hogarths were professional and empathetic through out. Thanks also to the people behind the scenes that we didn't see. I unequivocally recommend if you have an upcoming celebration - and the prices are extremely reasonable. I will definitely return in the future.
