On holiday in the area and fancied a fry up, not a fan of supermarket meat so searched for a butcher and found Hewitt and Grant, I'm so glad I did as the sausage, bacon, black pudding and eggs were first class, when I'm back this way I will be paying a visit, great place

A proper butcher.....the taste is so different as it's prepared with care. I had pork and apple sausages which were fab, also the sausage rolls. The smoked gammon was delicious eaten with a baked onion and mash. They also have home made Eccles cakes and chocolate oaties for dessert or just because ! Also there are fresh vegetables in season, bread and other groceries like jam, cheese, milk etc. Served with kindness and knowledge of their produce. First class.

We recommend this butcher for the meat quality of course but the fabulous local butcher service was a great experience 👌 they explained how to cook the shoulder of pork when I purchased it and even prepared it for the oven by taking the fat of ready for crackling 😀
