We came across this lovely converted barn on our journey to Scotland and decided to stop by for a quick bite. There is a shop connected to the cafe where we purchased a gift for our friends back home. We were greeted by two lovely ladies and served promptly. We both enjoyed a cup of tea and a delicious homemade fruit scone with butter and jam at just over £5 each we thought was well worth it.

We have visited the Farm shop numerous times over the years and have always enjoyed a meal in the restaurant.
On this occasion, once again, the service was rapid, staff very pleasant and the quality of food was very good.
However, a visit to the Gents toilet confirmed that this facility is in dire need of a refurbishment. There is also a dilapidated bin situated by the entrance door marked 'Do not use'. It might be prudent to get rid of it.

Arrived at 2.45. ( closing time 4.pm ) to be told that it was sandwiches only the waitress seemed miffed with us as from the minute we arrived . I asked if there was soup still on to the reply " I will see if they can heat some up but it's just leak and potatoes " .
Declined the soup as I felt like I was putting them out and settled for a prawn sandwich.
my wife and son also had sandwiches which to be fair were nice but lacked anything in the way of garnish " just a few crisps " for the price of 8 pound I would expect at least some salad and coleslaw coffee and tea were OK but to be honest I have paid less and received more at several places locally and probably won't be visiting again
The purpose of the visit was to look at hiring the pool on a regular weekend and having lunch afterwards however we will be looking at other options, which is a shame because the rural setting is superb and it was recommended by someone who lived in a rental nearby

Upon first entering, we had to wait to be seated. There were several empty seats, but it took a long time for anyone to acknowledge us. When someone finally came to seat us, the woman looked miserable. Sitting down to decide what we wanted, we noticed all the staff looked unhappy. When taking our order, I asked for a slight change and was bluntly told it was only what was on the menu. I was only asking for cheese in a different toastie. I actually wanted to leave, but we waited. The food came and I have to say it was delicious. But all in all, it was a very miserable place. Oh, and they have a lovely gift shop.

Hayton Farm Shop, very nice, clean and tidy with a good selection of snacks and food, staff also very nice and friendly. Plenty of parking spaces and also ideal for cyclist's wanting a stop off for coffee and cake ? ?‍♂️?‍♀️?

Called here on the way to Newcastle and it was well worth the stop, I choose a BLT and my wife a Tuna and Cucumber sandwich from a excellent lunch menu and we weren't disappointed, (they also serve desserts with a large selection of home made ice cream ?). The staff were polite and friendly and the cafe was clean and tidy though a bit dated. Downsides, there are no signs on the approach road which travelling at 60mph it's quite easy to miss, by the time you see it you're past it ☹️, the place looks like it could do with a freshen up (new paint etc) but don't let that put you off as it's a really great little cafe
