We had a lovely Sunday brunch of salmon and cream cheese croissants here. Coffee was lovely, and we had to treat ourselves too, then take away fresh bread and cake. ‘Breakfast with a view’.

The best artisan bakery in the area. Everything is beautifully made a full of flavour. The cafe has a limited menu but again the quality is obvious in everything on it.
We'll pop in for breakfast and then enjoy a walk in the local area and whenever we're passing will stock up on some of their delicious breads.

Bought filled rolls to take away as we were travelling. My roll was absolutely delicious, but unfortunately, halfway through, I bit down and painfully found it had a big lump of walnut shell in it. At that point, we were too far away to take it back. Be careful when buying any of the rolls with walnuts. Also, check when ordering anything vegetarian to make sure it is.

I visited this café for the first time on a warm, sunny Wednesday afternoon in June 2023. I was with my elderly mother. The café has been created beautifully. There is plenty of seating inside and outside on the terrace but, on a hot day, we chose to sit inside, as there are no parasols or any real shade on the terrace. The selection of sweet and savoury food is huge. We chose fruit scones with jam and clotted cream. Delicious!! We liked the look of the savoury items on display so much that we then ordered a sausage roll and a goat's cheese, spinach and red pepper tart, which were hot and really tasty. The service at the counter was extremely friendly and professional and the young lady who brought our food and drink to the table was delightful. A little bit pricey, of course but we expected that, given the location in the Rutland countryside and the food on offer. A great find though and we'll certainly return. I would definitely recommend.
Update 11 Oct 2023. Wow! Fantastic soup, sourdough and focaccia then a fruit scone and custard tart. Really lovely, peaceful location, even better food and the young ladies serving are lovely too.

First visit to the cafe as love their bread & are not often passing. Smart building & parking. Friendly staff. They were busy however nearly 25 mins wait for 2 coffees & cake. Dirty tables & floors. Coffee was very good & cake was nice but they need another coffee machine & staff that are quicker at cleaning. Still love their bread & their ethos but wouldn’t rush back to the cafe.

Such a shame that the bakery could not provide gluten free options, so many other cafés have made the effort. Unfortunately gluten intolerance is a medical condition and not a lifestyle choice such as vegan where generally more of an effort is made to cater for. Nice coffee, staff and atmosphere but no point visiting if gluten intolerant and you want a cake or anything with bread.

Order and pay at the till in advance and the food will be served at your table.
Just be careful of you're vegetarian and picked up a veg. Quiche or something, you need to to tell them that the salad served with it must be "suitable for vegetarian", as I need up with grated cheese and bacon salad with my quiche.
