Wonderful caring vet practice.
The animals come first here, I had my Frenchie Pixie spayed in December, as we had travelled a fair distance James ensured she was done first so we didn’t have to hang around all day.
Her recovery was amazing, her scar is very neat and she is now fully healed.
Worth the travel and will be bringing the rest of my pups here.

We moved here after our little girl Shelley had been treated elsewhere. Rather than giving her antibiotics as had been prescribed before James recommended a change of diet. This has worked incredibly & she is now fully recovered. He is so considerate & caring in the way he deals with her. I sing his praises to all our fellow dog owners we know. Forgot to add James called me twice to check on how she was progressing. I’m pleased to say ‘Tina Turner’ as he calls her is now ‘Simply the best’ she has been in months.

I can’t praise James and his team enough, they are amazing. My beautiful Labrador has been so poorly and the team have been so supportive and kind throughout the whole ordeal. I can honestly say without James and his team I believe we would have lost her and she is still with us and improving.They truly are the best and go above and beyond, even calling us late at night to help her , we are so grateful.

James Duffield: a truly outstanding vet who intuitively combines his obvious expert (continually updated) clinical knowledge, insight & experience with empathy, compassion and just utter kindness for all of his 'patients' & their owners too. There is a reason James & his wonderful support team have an army of devoted clients who routinely travel 45 mins to him for consultation (as we do). The trust & confidence he inspires that your beloved pets are simply in the best possible hands it totally worth any travel time. This truly is the gold standard of health care you can give your pet, despite fee charging ethics that put large corporate vet practices to shame. Once you have visited this vet you and your pets will see what I mean. Thank you so much James & the team for the wonderful care you continue to give our precious fur babies.

My weimeraner Bertie had a really bad experience when he was neutered at a vets as a puppy. As a result he was traumatised by vets and it would be a nightmare trying to get him into the surgery let alone to see the vet. Once in the surgery he would growl and shake and literally wriggle so much it was impossible to do anything to him. Two years ago I walked into the newly opened Goostrey Lane Vets. Fast forward two years and my dog prances into the surgery and if James’ door is open will go in to say hi before it’s his turn. 😂 He also had arthritis and with this practiced holistic approach is a happier and more able bodied dog. James and his team are phenomenal. The care and time they take with every client sets this surgery apart from any I have ever used and having had a lot of pets I can’t think of one veterinary practice that comes even close. They care about the animals and they care about the owners and always go above and beyond. From the receptionists to the practice manager to the nurses they all have a can do attitude and are always super friendly, knowledgeable and dedicated. I cannot recommend them highly enough. Thank you from Bertie his life is happier now he is getting the optimum care he deserves.

James is the best vet going. We travel out of area to see him because his expertise of bulldogs (especially the French variety!) is second to none. He goes above and beyond every time and his recommendations are always sensitive to budgets. I trust him 100%. The surgery itself is a lovely place with wonderful staff.
