I attended a beginners workshop with a friend today and we really enjoyed it. I have never sat in front of a sewing machine before never mind made something.

Today I made a cushion cover with the support of Jen our tutor, who was so patient, friendly and extremely knowledgeable.

The session was lovely and welcoming by all who attended, we were even treated to tea and cake!

Great session, in a relaxed and friendly environment. Highly recommended!

I wanted a customised baptism hankie, so I emailed an image giving an idea of what I wanted and quickly got a response from Jean with a lovely design. She was super amenable to my requests, and within 5 days of my first enquiry I received my hankie and it’s beautiful. Thank you so much!

Just a word of advice to people ordering monogrammed hankerchiefs from this company. The mistake is, I'm advised, entirely mine as I misunderstood the difference between 'straight' stitching and 'diagonal'. I wanted and ordered diagonal. I've attached a photo, this is apparently diagonal - for this reason the owner will not replace them. So now at least I know the difference. Expensive lesson.

The good news is that I found a different supplier who, fortunately has the same understanding of diagonal stitching as I do and has supplied them, at a third less cost and, to be honest, better quality hankerchiefs.

I had a wonderful time with Jean this afternoon in her lovely workroom. I really needed pattern alteration help and her class was marvellous. We (I say we but mostly I watched and learnt) altered my pattern and then I used her great cutting table to cut out my toile. I have tonight to make up and then I’ve booked to go again tomorrow afternoon to do any adjustments that need doing.
The room is so lovely and light and airy. There were plenty of machines to use and as an added bonus cake and drinks. I can’t think of a nicer way to spend an afternoon. Thank you

I have been going to Goldstitch sewing groups for the last 7 years and loved every minute. Jean is so kind, friendly and extremely knowledgeable. I have made many outfits and home comforts with Jeans help. Anyone wanting to sew then Goldstitch is definitely the place to come to. Looking forward to another 7 years. Claire x

The shop is run by Jean and she has so much knowledge and expertise for anything to do with not only sewing but pattern construction and all things sewing related. The stock of materials are impressive and of the highest quality. It truly is a sewing emporium of the highest order.

I booked a project day and can honestly say I have enjoyed every minute. Her knowledge is second to none and her patience in explaining each process and the reason behind it is amazing.
