All the staff at Ginger & Pickles in Byley are really helpful and friendly. The service is excellent as is the food. Today on my visit Maddie made French Toast with berries and maple syrup for me even though it wasn’t on the menu, because when I had it two weeks ago it was so delicious I wanted it again, and it didn’t disappoint. Would highly recommended G&P, a little gem! X

We had a delicious Sunday roast: plenty of beautifully cooked beef and chicken and a tasty selection of vegetables and extras. Lovely friendly team offering very good service. Pot of tea was a little on the weak side so that was the only disappointment.

Great little gem just off the M6. Far better food than a motorway services. Reasonable amount of parking with the addition of a farm shop, very small garden nursery and a few other shops. Out of town area so plenty of fresh air. Seating inside and some sheltered outside. Excellent cooked breakfast is a good choice. Easy access for wheel chairs and buggies. One spacious toilet in the cafe. Definitely recommend.

Had a wonderful lunch today and it was a bonus to sit outside in the area which is sheltered from the wind. All the staff are friendly, polite and helpful. My breakfast was served on a hot plate which I like and the menu has lots to choose from. Would highly recommend.

Very overpriced and not very good food. We had breakfast and the eggs were fried to a crisp with solid yolks, not fit to eat and astonished they even served them up. The rest of the food on the plate was poor value for the money compared to anywhere else we have visited. I don't mind high prices but expect decent quality.
You do get an awful lot of bread though.
Ordering is a mystery but it seems you have to order at the unattended till hidden in the corner. A sign above it to say "Order here" would be a great help.
I had a hot chocolate which was both generous and pleasant so don't want to sound critical of everything. Others seemed to be enjoying their food so maybe the breakfast isn't the best choice from the menu.
Have visited twice in the last 6 months, gave them the benefit of the doubt first time but second visit was no better.

🍔 Bob's Burgers 🍔
Chef Bob is doing burgers as a weekend special. The beef is of high quality and you can really tell, the taste is amazing! If you're like me and enjoy a burger, give it a try for only £8.50. The staff were also lovely and the service was always with a smile. Will definitely be returning for another one 😋

Arrived early and asked the lady on the counter if she would make me a coffee despite not being open yet. She was kind enough to oblige (despite admitting to not being a barrister) and made me a lovely cappuccino!
Extremely friendly too which is always a bonus after a 4 hour drive.

Good quality food. Quite pricy for the quantity you get though. Need to double up on those sausages on the breakfast. One isn’t enough for the price. Was very tasty though
