Visited today for a carvery at 530pm, if you can call it that. Expected it to be busy at that time or day, but it was very quiet. Scrag ends of meat, even the server seemed embarrassed trying to slice it as it was as dry as cardboard. Some guests ended up having veg only as the meat looked awful. Veg was cold, mash is smash, roasts cold and overcooked, stuffing balls as hard as golf balls!! Yorkshire puds looked good, however were stone cold. We tried to eat but after being unable to slice the gammon we sent it back. The staff were apologetic and we got a refund on the food and ended up eating elsewhere. We used to visit here many moons ago and thought we'd give it a go again as it used to be good. Sadly, after today we will not be returning. I hope they manage to turn it around again. Shame if another pub/eatery has to close.

We had our Christmas meal at the Gamecock. All 4 courses were presented really well and the food was lovely. Staff and management couldn't do enough and were very attentive. Lovely cosy atmosphere and great value for money. Will definitely be visiting again.

Just been here for a meal and it was disgusting. Worst carvery I have ever had!! Not one of us ate our food even the kid who will eat anything turned their face to it. And to make it even worse there was a hair on the food. And when we tried to complain the guy walked off said one minute and never came back. The roast potatoes were so hard you couldn't even bite into them. Would never come again!!

Open fire has not worked for 5 years, new land lady Kate has got the fire mended and now so very cozy. Superlative dog friendly pub. Little whisper!!! I have heard breakfasts will soon be available...yum yum! Thank you Kate you are fabulous darling!
