A little bit before Valentine's day I was in need of some balloons and looked to Flaxten for help. I had been given some recommendations from family and considering my usual shop was closed, I gave it a go.
Unfortunately my experience was not amazing. First time I called and a guy answered the phone and wanted to call me back in 1 hour. No surprise, no calls back for the rest of the evening. Obviously customers must not be important in your business if you are happy to just push a potential order to the side and forget about it.
Although that was not a good first impression I understand things happen so I decided to try again and 2 days later I managed to call again and was finally able to get a price for 2 balloons. Just before being passed to a lady I was told my order did not meet the minimum delivery requirements. I was told they are not operating out of the shop at the moment, understandable if you are not permitted to open although like many other businesses in the same category could have at least offered a timeslot pickup for those who do not live nearby or do not meet minimum delivery. Unfortunately I had already sorted everything else out and so was not able to make up the money. And as I do with every company that puts you in a catch 22 for delivery or refuses to negotiate, I decided to not go through with the order.
Considering I live in Rainham it's not that far from the shop, I am happy to pay a small surcharge if I do not meet minimum delivery requirements. Unfortunately I was not offered that opportunity and I was given the impression that the business owners did not really want the income because if you were someone who really wanted the business and the good reputation you would have at least tried to negotiate the moment I was happy to leave the order on the table.
