One of the worst places to go if you want to speak to someone who is friendly, help-full and knows what they are talking about! Even the branch manager can’t even be bothered to get back to you when you have been told he will. I have got a massive job on locally but I won’t be buying from them!!
3weeks for a half hearted reply- nice!!!

Not been here in a while, always hated it, however on a recent visit, I found the staff happy and helpful, it was clean and tidy, so will definitely be back.

4 months ago I left a review and said it was too expensive, Fairalls said they'd have a look. I go in today and 500ml of wood glue is £20! Same stuff is £9 at Screwfix/Toolstation. Shop was empty and I'm not surprised

Fairalls is a thoroughly awful experience. Most things are overpriced, some staff are cheerful but most are at best grumpy, if not rude. The worst thing is that many, if not most, items aren't priced so you go to the checkout with no idea how much you're going to be spending. Pathetic.

I rang to get a price for a sheet of 25 mm mdf, I was told it would be around £76.00 but could be discounted to around £56.00 as I hold a cash account. Apon checking at my other supplier champion timber ,I was priced £47.00 without even being discounted !!!
How can your pricing be so much different making it look good that you've dropped from £76 to £56 when it's actually cheaper somewhere else without any discounts ,
YOU ARE RIPPING PEOPLE OFF IN THESE HARD TIMES AND JUST PLAIN GREEDY .

2 visits in one day. They didn't have the items needed. They are rearranging their sales area. Bit of a shambles ( upstairs I saw a plank of wood left on the floor with large nails pointing upwards. Plenty of trip hazards nearby).

I'm not DIY expert so went in Godstone store today asking for some advice but got hugely disappointed. One of the guy was giving me some direction and then the other guy jumped in and referred me to their website giving me their business card. I have a common sense to go to the website but I went in to speak to a staff and expected a reasonable response. I was disappointed and started walking out and the guy rudely saying do you need a contact details for the builder? If I needed a builder then I would have asked for that at the first place! Anyway never putting my foot in this store again.

What a brilliant place! I have never seen a more well stocked builders merchants. And the prices all seem pretty competitive too. The staff however is where I think this places really shines. Everyone is so helpful and friendly. They also know a lot about the products they are selling. Whenever I've needed a bit of help or advice there is always someone there who is happy to help me out.
I can't recommend this place enough. All the yard staff are very patient running around helping me find the right timber. The decorating department is fantastic the chap who runs it is very helpful and I've never not got the colour I wanted. The guy who runs the trade counter is brilliant and is always so cheerful, all the other counter staff really are just as fantastic helping me when I need it.
They've got people there with expert knowledge in plumbing, tools, timber, they even have a gent who is brilliant with key cutting. Seriously even on the phone I've had all my calls answered quickly and professionally. 100% visit fairalls for their great customer service if nothing else. Its fantastic.
