Ten dads, 12 girls ranging from 5-10 years old and 2 boys of a similar age. What could go wrong on our annual dads’ / kids’ trip? Nothing, because the place is amazing. The location is beautiful, by a burbling brook with a great spot to try and drown the kids in natural plunge pool. The pub, 200 yards down the road was excellent and the walks around the tops are accessible right outside your door and just past the gas bbq, wood burner and hot showers. We are going back, all the time. I might move in. It’s that nice.
And the kids - the best time of their lives. Thank you.

The tents were out of this World and had everything you possible need. The location was perfect and the hospitality was exceptional. We had the best time and loved having walks on our doorstep. We will definitely be back and stay for longer next time .

Just returned from a midweek break at the end of May and have to say what an absolute amazing place this is. ||We stayed in the Portland tent which was well equipped and maintained. There is a plumbed in bathroom and a sink in the main room/kitchen area. There are 2 log burners, 1 in the bathroom which is used to heat the water and the other in the main room which is a bit like an Aga (it has a side oven and the top can be used to heat pans/kettle although there is also a camping style burner as well. There is also a Weber BBQ outside and there is a large cool box to be used as a fridge and you can pick up ice blocks as needed to ensure you keep things chilled. There are also a few fridges near the main house/office which are clearly marked for each lodge.||Mike was a legend (good luck with the knee)! who recommended a few walks which literally start as soon as you open the tent. Geoff and Mac the dog also superstars and the kids got see Mac in action doing what a sheepdog does best. ||A couple of pubs, the old nags head and the rambler which served great food and really hospitable. ||There is a local general store which is pretty small and is more a 9-5 store so don’t leave picking up that pint of milk and bottle of wine too late. There is a Spar in Hope and also a good butchers there which is only a 10 mins drive away if you do need other bits. There’s a good cafe next to Edale station as well (5 min walk from your tent) serving hot chocolates, coffees sandwiches and some fab cookies and brownies. ||It can get a bit chilly on an evening but the daily supply of logs and blankets are great. ||It’s one of those places you tell everybody about when you get home and is somewhere we will definitely return to.

Beautifully appointed, spacious tents with everything you need included. Spectacular views of the hills, and a huge variety of hill walks on your doorstep. Absolutely the place to stay in the Peak District.

Had an amazing long weekend here with a group of friends. The safari tents were brilliant and had so much more than we expected. If you want to experience camping outdoors but don't want to sacrifice on comfort and luxeries then this place is perfect! The kitchen and living area has all the basics you need and the bathroom is fully fitted with a fab shower!|The proper full size beds were super comfy, come with heated blankets in case it gets cold and soft bedding.|Outside there is a firepit and BBQ offering lovely evenings watching the sun go down over the beautiful countryside.|The owners were always on hand with anything you needed.|Location is perfect, a short walk to the local village with a pub, shop and cafe. There are lots of walking trails to choose from with the main one being the kinder.|There's also a lovely stream a short walk away that's fresh enough to take a dip on a hot day. |No matter what your ability, there's options for everyone.|Absolutely brilliant glamping experience, we all had the best time and couldn't fault it. Cannot wait to come back here again!

Wow, what a place. I wanted something a bit different to celebrate my husbands birthday with the family, and this place exceeded all expectations! The safari tent was spectacular, and the location couldn’t have been better. Walking, wild swimming, pubs and incredible views all without getting in the car. Plus the hosts were so friendly and accommodating. A truly unique place, thanks for having us!

We have returned home today from a stay over the Easter weekend and our first visit.||||From the moment we arrived, the stress of work seemed so far behind as the surroundings are breathtakingly stunning and the welcome so attentive and friendly. ||Jeff (wood replenisher, groundsman / shepherd / Jack of all trades) and Mac (the dog) are faces we happily saw on a regular basis and nothing was too much trouble. They made us feel so welcome and like Edale was very much our home whilst we were there.||||We stayed in the top tent and it was perfect. The beds were so comfy and warm and the bathroom not what you would expect to find in a tent - it was more like a boutique hotel. ||||As it says in the marketing material on the website - all you need are your clothes and food. Everything else is provided. Towels, tea towels, olive oil, tea, sugar, logs, firelighters, matches, outdoor BBQ and gas and an extension lead (to charge your phone!)||||The stream can be heard in the background and only added to the soothing and therapeutic experience. We also wandered up to the natural plunge pool but it’s not one for the faint hearted due to the temperature of the water. Fantastic for a dip after a long walk though!||||The Edale General Store in the village contains the basics / essentials and we also ordered some sourdough bread and meat in advance to be collected upon arrival. Needless to say, both were delicious. We also bought sausages from one of the farms in Edale and it felt great to be supporting the local economy. They too were divine.||||The only downside is that I’m reluctant to let you know how wonderful it is as it feels like a little gem that should be kept a closely guarded secret to those in the know.||||Thank you to the Edale Gathering team. We’ll be back again (with more cake for Jeff)!

After a number of cancellations and moves due to Covid we finally got to stay at The Gathering - we stayed in the Shooting Lodge which we thought was absolutely fantastic. All of our experiences with the office and the staff were excellent. The accommodation was spotlessly clean and totally lived up to expectations. Highly recommended.
