I've been in many times over the past year to buy yarn as well as have something altered. They replaced an invisible zip in my dress which had broken. Their alternation looked made the dress look like new. They have a wide selection of yarn including the perfect shade for Harry Potter Christmas jumpers! They have nice discounts and prizes during Yarnstravaganza week.

This alterations business is one of the gems of Oakham’s high street retailers. Sian is a consummate professional, possessing endless patience, and always greets you a smile and a welcome. Daphne, the resident dog, only adds to the experience. I bring all of my clothes to Sian, for either repairs or alterations, and everything is ready to collect within a couple of weeks. It’s a small team so be prepared to be patient around Christmas, prom and wedding season. I couldn’t recommend the Darn Knit team highly enough.

A friendly and welcoming little shop in the heart of Oakham! I needed alterations for 9 pieces of clothing. I went in with them and was immediately seen to, Sian measured up, and had my clothes ready to collect within 2.5 weeks. They have done an amazing job with the alterations. It is a fab shop, speedy service, and the staff are so lovely!

Wonderful shop and excellent customer service. Having started crochet for the first time, I was directed to all the tools and wool I needed to complete my project…even receiving some guidance too! Fantastic experience and I will definitely be coming back for my next crafting project!
