First visit in about 6 years. It's expanded a little but has not lost any of its charm. Sat on the banks of the river Ouse with ample seating inside and out. Numbered tables. Order at till and your food/drinks are brought to you. Very nicely cooked food. A little higher in price but then the quality and quantity is better than others I've had in the area. Recommended.

Artful Dodger canal boat ride at Danish Camp was awesome. You can have up to 12 people on board but today it was just three of us. We had one hour with Ozzy and his humans (who were great hosts) on the canal boat. One hour with them was like a little holiday away. Just lovely.
Great value for money. Highly recommend.

Came here after doing dog agility at JDA 2 miles away. Went for a 2 mile walk around the woods and decided it was time for a pie and pint.
There is an area for folks with dogs and is inside and very nicely presented with plenty of space.
Outside, you are next to the river Ouse with garden space and tables, or you can sit on the balcony undercover and watch the river go by.
In fact there is another area for sitting outside which has its own 'local' bar. See extra picture added.

We really like this place, and since we live about 10 minutes away from it, whenever we want/ need to get a little break from work (we both work from home since the pandemic), we come here for a nice long walk! Truly is a beautiful + peaceful place, where one can regain it's sanity before getting back to the workload out there!

Very disappointed. When we found the server to order our food, she was positioned round the corner behind the wall, out of sight.. The food arrived in a timely manner. Nicely presented and tasty. Customers had to clear tables to sit down at them.
It wasn't exactly busy either. Instead of being hidden behind the wall, it might of been useful for the tables to be cleared.
I am sure it's a different place in the summer when the outside is utilised. But it was like the moon on a winters Saturday lunchtime. No atmosphere.
Food Great
But the rest left a lot to be desired.

A Christmas gift and craft fair was held. It was a lovely venue. Next to the river. Cafe/restaurant, indoor/outdoor bars. Good setting for an enjoyable time.
Good walks along the river. Boats moored along the bank.

Loved it! Good area to go walking keep in mind that cyclists also use the same walking lane as the pedestrians however it's well sign posted with priority given to walkers. Lots of ducks & swans live here and there is plenty of benches scattered around the walking lane should you chose to take a rest. I loved the views and there's also the added benefit of a coffee shop

My local friends love this place, so I joined them for lunch during my visit. I had the southern fried chicken wrap which was delicious and was a good portion. The service was friendly and efficient.
