Reviews of Co-op Food - Bishops Castle

It must be such a difficult place to work having to repeatedly apologise to customers for the empty shelves, a plethora of plastic and unnecessary items from overseas. The Co-op really needs to get its act together in a small town which is to all intent and purpose forcing people to shop elsewhere (not the Spar which is equally shambolic) and contributing to the carbon footprint. To quote a previous reviewee it is a true 'inconvenience store'

Me and my friends went to try and get a meal deal and got turned away because we tried to buy energy drinks.
After both of my older friends going in earlier that day and buying spirits and energy drinks they both dropped their ID off at home thinking they wouldn’t have to use it again that day.
We then returned to buy an energy drink and we were turned away because i was the only one with ID.
I then asked to just buy myself one and got turned away.
I later returned hoping to pick up a drink, went to a cashier who I knew, still showed my ID for the sake of his job being protected and as he was about to serve me the same woman who had turned us away previously came out and told him not to serve me as she believed I was buying its for my friends who had returned home.
When I confronted the woman asking what right she had to turn me away when I was showing money and valid ID she ignored my question and made the cashier cancel my order.
Me and my friends were all loyal customers here until today and can easily say you won’t have to worry about seeing this customer again.
After humiliating me in front of the entire store I left and DROVE home, which of course I couldn’t have done if she had the right to turn me away.
Well done for loosing a customer, never had a problem before and staff had always been lovely. This particular member of staff obviously didn’t value her customers enough.

Just had such a rude experience.
Staff member Gina at the till refused me an energy drink on the basis that one of us in the works van on the way to work was unDer 16.
I'm clearly over 25. With my son who is 18 and the young apprentice of 16 .
Don't understand her attitude first thing in the morning.
As the shop is the only one around for ten miles I will use it again at lunch time to see if I can purchase the said item . Or will I be told that she still thinks that we are all together in a conspiracy to buy energy drinks from there fridge that are for sale.
Been using this shop now for the past 2 months. As we are working on a house up the road and staying at a guest house near by.

Several folk queuing outside in the rain, eventually get in and there are only 2 customers in the shop and one person on the till. Another member of staff walking around with a trolley, no doubt about to stock the half filled shelves with more plastic wrapped products. I know it's difficult for retail during these tricky times, but frankly no excuse for poor variety, overwhelming plastic and poor management. A true 'inconvenience' store!

Typical market town shop, does it's best to supply the town with most things but is constrained by its size.not the cheapest of shops but clean, well stocked and we'll frequented. May be s little awkward if you are in a wheel chair or buggy.

Small co-op food store. Good variety of groceries and frozen foodstuffs. Household cleaning products and newspapers and magazines.

almost impossible to maintain social distancing got shouted at by rude shop girl and told I could only shop on my own. No problems previously have been going in for almost 17 years will not be shopping there again - horrid little shop.

Excellent local Co-op, friendly helpful staff, a little limited in ranges due to size of shop, but 'open all hours' more than compensates!
