Quite messy in terms of appearance and organisation. I ordered some essentials for delivery through the app. Time stated it would be delivered between 1pm and 2pm. Got to 4pm and still nothing. I tried phoning the store several times and finally got through to a lovely lady called Catherine who was trying her best to help me. I understand it's the Uber drivers who didn't come and collect etc. I tried phoning this morning to find out where my delivery was and if it was going to turn up today. The lady who answered was so rude and unhelpful. She basically said that I can just go and collect it.... I ordered it as a delivery for a reason.... I didn't catch her name but she was unbelievable in her attitude. The two stars are basically for Catherine who was lovely. It's a shame that the other members of staff aren't like her. Finally got a refund after phoning head office. Won't be using Co-op again. Extremely disatisfied.

Local convenience store, located in the centre of Benson village that caters for most ‘needs’ and quite a range of ‘wants’. Personally I find the staff helpful and polite. Can sometimes seem understocked, but I consider that to be a success (clearly people use it well). Sometimes it attracts some criticism, but please remember this is not a supermarket. Well done COOP.

Good size shop with clueless management. If you want a cold wine or beer from the fridge go elsewhere. They have a huge fridge, and there hasn’t been one single time I went there and the fridge doors (all of them) were properly closed. They say it’s because they are re-stocking…. Not at all…. The chaps re stock but leave them open…I even try to close every time I go but the thing is stuck open . Result is warm drinks and a huge waste of energy which may be coming considerably costly on their bills….and obviously will end up on our wallets. Really?

Treated Unjustly - Potentially Racially Motivated.

Sent my 14 year old son to pick up some organic lemons this morning and he came back with one of the lemons being moldy. I duly sent him back to get a fresh bach. He subsequently rang to say they won't exchange them becuase essentially they accused him of changing the lemons to moldy one's.

I find this laughable as I am a Solicitor on a decent salary hence don't need to resort to such behaviour for the sake of £3 or whatever they cost to make ends meat!!

I attended the store in person to resolve the situation out of sheer principles and the manager continued with the same rhetoric, however eventually offering a refund, which I obviously refused and didn't want, as I just wanted to make the point that she shouldn't make assumptions becuase my son is mixed race and wearing a tracksuite hence was out to rob co-op of some lemons.

I will also be making a complaint to head office!!

In response to below: 24 High Street, Benson, Wallingford, OX10 6RP.

I'm still fuming about the situation!

Standard co-op but not the best, it doesn't have much of a varity like extra mature cheese for example benson people don't seem to like it.
The sheveles are always half empty don't bother coming here for a cold drink you'll be lucky to get one.
Not once have I ever seen the drinks fridge fully stocked.
Take the extra 10 or 15 minutes and go to woodcotes co-op

Benson Coop used to be really good before the pandemic. Ever since it is poorly managed, dreadfully stocked, empty shelves, feels dirty and not a place I shop out of choice . Why? Get your act together Coop Management. You are serving a growing village and don’t deserve the business on current levels of service
