Knowledgeable and friendly staff, Free parking and over 30years of experience so they must know what they are doing. Beautiful wood burners and stoves (some are live so you can see what they look like when on) Colnestoves also specialises in gas and electric burners/stoves aswell as wood.

My wife and I decided that, after 20 years, our fireplace needed an upgrade. We were recommended Colne Stoves as a reliable and professional business that would be able to help and advise us as to what new gas fire would be suitable for our circumstances.
The owner, Sam, came out and measured up and advised us of the options available, which in our case was a slimline log effect gas fire that fits flush into an outside cavity wall, complete with a balanced flue. The fire is fitted with a frame which is a nice finishing touch.
A date was fixed to come and install it, and two guys duly turned up together with the gas fitter.
What a fabulous job they have done! It has transformed the living room. Colne Stoves did the entire job, from removing the old fireplace to altering the internal block work to accommodate the new fire, to plastering and making good. And all in two days. I can’t speak highly enough of the standard of workmanship, so thank you Colne Stoves! There is some decoration to do, and we must wait until the plaster dries before using the fire properly, but this is a small price to pay for a product that will give us many years of service.
In the interest of balance I would say that anyone who is thinking about a new fire must be prepared for a bit of mess whilst the installation is happening, but the end justifies the means. We are delighted with the result. You certainly get what you pay for.

Was looking for an electric inset fire to go into an existing fireplace once I had removed the Gas fire that was there. Colne Stoves had just what I was looking for in the Gazco Logic 2 Electric Arts.
Very helpful advice and product knowledge from the staff on this product.
From order to delivery I was kept well informed. Collected, took home, unpacked and installed. Job done and well pleased with overall performance and appearance of fire.

Brilliant service from Colne Stoves! Needed my flue replacing which proved to be a tricky job as the old one broke in two whilst being pulled out of the chimney…needless to say there was a lot of soot! Clive and Jake dealt with everything amazingly and am very impressed with the level of cleanliness after the initial mess. Great and swift service from Angus and the assessor Sam, both very knowledgeable. Would highly recommend.

We received a great service from Colne Stoves. The multi fuel stove and chimney liner installation was done on time and to a very high standard. I also liked that Colne Stoves provided us with proper written invoices and quotations. All the other stove installers in the Colchester area couldn't be bothered to reply to emails and phone calls or just did not want the work. Easily the best installer in the Essex Tendring area and the only one I would recommend to our friends.

On moving into our current house, we decided to swap an old gas fire for a new wood burning stove. Colnestoves' initial proposals were both imaginative and appropriate -- and their quote was competitive, though not the cheapest. We found their workers were both competent and polite -- and the installation was carried out without disruption or mess and was completed on time. As a result we have enjoyed a well-installed quality log burner since early 2016.

I don’t understand the negative comments made on here at all. We’ve had an amazing customer experience with Colne. Expert knowledge, advice and great value for money. The installation was done to an incredibly high standard by two friendly gentlemen who I have nothing but the highest praise for. My partner and I are made up with our log burner and even went back to accessorise. We would definitely use again, thank you Colne Stoves.
