Great place to visit with your family. Really sad to see some parts of the for filled knee hight with empty beer cans. Children loved crabbing. There were hundreds and very easy to catch. The cafe is great and very reasonably priced. Other than the litter I can't fault coalhouse fort.
Toilete and disabled access and free parking

Free parking and information boards dotted around the pathways giving the history behind the original two gunned fort. The radar tower and fort itself set along the shoreline with the walk around the moat to the backdrop of the sound of oystercatchers in all gives a wonderful experience.
Well worth a visit.

It's a beautiful space for walk, picnic, dog-walk and children play. The place has historical importance. Once it was used as a fort. The building remains there but mostly closed. The surrounding areas have beautiful natural scenarios. The park consists of few lakes and the adjacent Thames river view is wonderful. The river view gives a sense of sea view, there isn’t proper beach, but possible to reach to the water. although we didn’t get into the water, as it doesn’t seem safe for kids. There are roads and tracks which provide ample opportunity to walk with dog and kids. There is a small playground as well. Parking facilities are there and it's free. Altogether this place deserve more visitor's attention, we could see handful of people.
