Cleeve Abbey is a lovely place in a great location. We were the first ones there on Saturday morning so we had the place to ourselves. That's what I like the most. No crowds of people who only spoil the whole sightseeing process and there is a lot to see and read about. Very interesting place for me as a tiler.

Just an incredible and very interesting site. The buildings are well maintained and you really get a sense of the importance of this historic building.

Came here on a glorious summers day having just joined the English heritage. Took the West Somerset steam train which was a short walk away. Expected this to be ruins but was pleasantly surprised at how well retained this building was. Steeped in history. And great to explore. Plenty of rooms to visit including a big open room with loads of atmosphere. And with lovely grounds outside to sit and enjoy. A well stocked shop where both my sister and myself returned with souvenirs and yummy jams and relishes. And a very helpful assistant who gave us loads of information about the Abbey.

Smashing place. Lots to see and wonder at. Loved the preserved tiled floor and really great information about how they were made. So interesting and informative in a really acceptable way. Loo was spotless . EH staff were really informative and enthusiastic. I loved our little visit in the sunshine today. Boards held just enough information to capture you.

Nice place to visit. Good history of Cistertian Abbey and well laid out. Some original tile and paving work. Small shop, toilets are clean and easy free parking in the English Heritage car park across the road. Free disabled parking on site. Informative and helpful worker stationed in shop.Well worth a visit.

Unexpectedly interesting ruined abbey. There was lots to see, the refectory and dormitory were very well preserved and the tiled floor was remarkable. We visited on a wet day and could have explored more of the ruins had it been dry. But it still had plenty of covered areas to view in the wet.

Another superb English Heritage visit. I never expected our visit to be the absolute quality it was. Right from the start walking through the main gate we were captivated. The lady at the reception/shop that welcomed us was lovely and so full of subject passion and knowledge I feel we could have chatted for an age. The abbey is great to explore, and there’s plenty of it. Information boards explain the function of each area and indeed room as you move around the site, providing the visitor with good knowledge. I came away a lot more understanding of the life of monks at that time. We loved it. There’s an incredible tiled floor to view that resides in it’s original position but covered by a modern building. An example of the quality work done by English Heritage. There’s plenty of grass areas around the abbey so I would imagine a picnic on a sunny, warm day would be ideal. There’s plenty of parking in the allotted, well maintained area across the road.

This 12th-century Cistercian monastery is remarkably well-preserved, offering a fascinating glimpse into monastic life. The tranquil ruins, including the stunning cloister and refectory, are surrounded by beautiful countryside.
I visited during late summer which is quite nice. Staff offered a nice introduction at the ticket place. Highlight were the tiled mosaics.
