Half way down Winter Hay Lane, Horwich. Feels like a country cafe with pastle colours everywhere. Three/four small rooms and an ice cream counter at the front. Typical home made food such as quiche, omelette and various sandwiches.

Went for Breakfast, wish we hadn't.
This place can't even warm up beans properly. It used to be a lovely spot for dining, such a shame they would happily serve food that looks like it has been stepped on and have waitresses with zero customer service skills. Also, replace your China wear, chips harbour germs.

I love this place! Cosy in winter and refreshing in summer! Food is always beautiful and delicious!
Love treating clients to lunch here as it’s not loud and over crowded. Staff always happy and nothing too much trouble!
Thank you for always being amazing!

Took my little boy as a treat and was turned away, told they couldn’t accommodate us for just drinks and cakes at lunch time. Basically, you’re not spending enough so get lost. Got my son an ice cream to take away from a lady who clearly didn’t want to be there at all. Money will spend anywhere so go somewhere you are made to feel welcome

When you are the world’s most awkward customer like me — GF, dairy free and no caffeine — it really gets on my pip when I am charged extra through the nose for alternative milk, decaf coffee and shots of syrup. One place that shall remain nameless charged me £1 for a shot of vanilla syrup recently. I was a bit miffed.

I am pleased to say the Cowshed has the cheapest and one of the nicest coffees around.

£3.30 for me.
£2.50 if you are normal 🙂

And you can order from the outside, they have a very cute hole-in-the-wall style window hatch.

Engaging staff.
Lovely light venue that certainly adds a bit of brightness to the Horwich.

Can I have an udder please?

Went to a recent fashion show at the URC in Egerton, Bolton, a fantastic event, great evening.
A gem of a shop tucked away behind the Cow Shed on Winter Hey Lane, Horwich.
If you're going away, somewhere warm, must visit this shop
