Using the self service machine today the system double scanned my product. Trying to edit the basket list myself the system wouldn’t let me. The shop assistant behind the counter acknowledged I needed help and said he would be a minute. Minutes and minutes passed and he called for assistance. The bold headed numpty in the shop then ignored me and went behind the counter to assist other people not using the self serve leaving me and others waiting to use the self serve to queue up behind me. I asked the bald headed numpty behind the counter to edit the list and he asked me not to be rude. Me! Me being rude !? The staff are usually very good but these 2 members who obviously new and very green (one of which I recognise from poor service from when he worked in the garage up the road) need to attend customer service college again. 👌🏻

Were the two staff that inept to twig that if they fixed the problem at one of the self service stations that it would relief them of the increasing queue going to the till !!?

If you're going to allow charity collectors to set up a stand and loiter outside the shop, perhaps suggest to them that they don't block the pavement or pounce on customers entering and exiting the store. If I see them next time I plan to shop I'll keep going and use Sainsbury's or Tesco instead. Well played!

Friendly staff and a good all round shop. Has everything little bit you could want that you may miss of a weekly shop. It is Open quite late most days which has been useful on more than one occasion

A good sized, well stocked, popular local convenience store. Always clean, no shelves left empty, staff always busy restocking, and very friendly.

During social distancing -

1. Masking tape acting as 2m markers - they blend too much into the grey flooring.

2. No 2m markers around the shop floor like what has taken place in Tesco.

3. No face masks like the staff in Tesco wear.

4. No protective screen where the cashiers are like in Tesco. Instead the only things telling you to take precautions are either a typed notice that you’re unable to read until you get to the till and therefore breach the social distancing rules or the cashier serving you to keep your distance.

5. No notices in the shop restricting people to certain products to 3 items or less. Little wonder that rice, pasta, tins, toilet paper and baking ingredients are consistently out of stock!!

My advice - go to Tesco if you want to shop with a company that does more for its customers during an unprecedented crisis like this.
