can’t really give a review of the shop itself as we were herded out of the door by an extremely rude staff member before we’d had a chance to browse (guessing it’s the manager other people have had issues with here?).

as we arrived we saw a sign on the window saying they’d be back in 10 minutes, however there were plenty of people inside and as we got to the door someone unlocked it for us. assuming it was staff, we said thanks and walked in.

at this point said manager rushes up to us, throw her arms into an X shape and rushes us back out the door whilst muttering something incoherent, slamming the door in our faces as we piled back onto the street.

i’m not saying we were in the right as the sign did say, but given the circumstances, i don’t think we deserved that - there’s certainly more polite ways of saying “we’re closed” to potential customers (even if you do have a shop full of people)!

don’t think i’d bother trying again.

A fantastic gem of a store with a fresh feel. Well-organised with gorgeous displays and a full selection. I would fully recommend a visit!
I was greeted by the manager who took time to assist us in a welcoming, friendly manner. Will definitely call again❤️

I love this shop, especially last a few months , after transformation! I am a bargain! Looking for something special! And I have it from there. If you’re asking what is the real reason to buying anything there ? PEOPLE! M and S , they are real gems. Both looking like they are in right place, doing the best job possible, being the part of the shop. Creating, maintaining, thinking what can be better, what kind of changes could be made?
The people- stuff there including volunteers they are the real heart of the place.
Ps. I manage the business more than 25 years and I know place it is only the place even the most beautiful but if it is with heartless it will be empty place.
So congratulations Shelter Islington.

The staff here are always lovely, the shop is always clean and well stocked. The store manager is really lovely, too! She gave me some urgently needed fashion advice, when picking out gifts for people. You probably can spot her because she’s always dressed really well and usually has a big smile on her face. The location of the shop is really good, loads of places to eat and drink close by and it’s walking distance from the train station too.

I don’t normally write reviews but feel I have to. This is a truly amazing shop and I have found some wonderful items. Wonderfully set out space always clean and welcoming. But the really best thing is the manager Stephanie who is always cheery and welcoming she is a true asset and it’s because off her that I love coming here.

I went across this shop by accident and meet the amazing Steffy who helped me to pick my clothes for the holidays. I must to confess that I am a shelters fan ! I visit Camden,the one near Holland Park 27 bus but none I found such a friendly and engaging person . Now I try to visit the shop weekly. Thanks for your hard work and the amazing work settlers.

A new addition to Upper Street's great boutique charity shops! Has a fantastic selection of clothes, including higher end brands, at very good prices. The shop itself is clean, bright and spacious, and there's a real stylishness and quirkiness to its displays. Stock turns over quite quickly, so there's always something new to browse, and the staff are super friendly and helpful. Hope they're here to stay!
