Me and my father have increasingly been choosing the Weavers Cafe to get some food at, and it’s clear that this place has a dedicated following—especially if you happen to arrive at opening time. Picture this: it's the weekend and the doors unlock, and a squadron of determined seniors (I counted at least ten) descend with the precision and speed of well-trained vultures, ready to secure their tables. It’s honestly impressive and worth witnessing at least once.

Now, as for the food—it’s generally solid, though you might get a bit of variation depending on who’s in the kitchen. My one tiny gripe? On our last visit my food included eggs where “runny” was a bit too generous of a description for the whites - but this wouldn't stop me visiting again as other times the food has been spot on.

But here’s the real star of the show: the staff. They’ve consistently been upbeat, attentive, and quick to fix any little hiccup. A big thank you to them for making each visit enjoyable. This place wouldn’t be the same without their hard work and good humour—even at the crack of dawn when they’re unlocking the gates for the breakfast brigade!

Having visited the cafe for the last 10 years, today was the last time for us! The service was diabolical, my wife and daughter ordered toasted current tea cakes and myself a round of toast. After waiting for 30mins, we checked up where the order was and were told by the waitress Nikki ' I'll go and check'. At the same time another lady had waited over half an hour for two sandwiches and was told the same thing.
After another 5 minutes or so, the food eventually arrived brought to the table by Nikki - no apology given for it being late, no smile, no nothing. I wouldn't care but the cafe wasn't all that busy, during our time waiting the most people queued at the counter got to a dizzying max of three.
What a shame, this used to be a great place to have a drink and a snack but sadly never again.

Went today , ordered roast beef sandwich & pasty with gravy , chips & peas. Waited 35 mins for food to arrive. I asked for brown bread & was served white. No coleslaw , which should have come with the sandwich. The chips & gravy were cold & had to be swapped! Wouldn’t dine here again unfortunately!

Very disappointed. Tuna mayo sandwich £7.99 with coleslaw and salad. No coleslaw so we asked to share chips instead. Or an alternative as they had run out. No soup run out. The waitress looked stressed and no smile bless her.

Nice staff but 35 minutes wait for a grilled cheese sandwich and sausage and bacon breakfast sandwich, I have worked in catering for a number of years and thought the wait was excessive , please sort out the kitchen staff o
r you will continue to get bad reviews on waiting times. After watching the kitchen staff ,they seemed unsure what to do with the orders coming through and looked like they were not really bothered that people were waiting so long for food , breakfast sandwich not the best and cheese on toast rubbery and tasteless

Went today with my family for lunch,they all enjoyed their food but unfortunately, I was unable to have anything they don't do tuna unless mixed with Mayo they don't do boiled eggs unless with Mayo,
They only do fried or scrabbled eggs not poached,
This seems like I am being fussy but I am on WW and I am trying extremely hard to eat healthy unfortunately when you go to places like this they don't cater for allergies and dietary needs.
Such a shame cos this would have been lovely to eat together.

Went yesterday for a meal there staff were good but being told you be waiting 30/45 minutes for food had to ask where food was in the meantime had to coffee were they should have given you over free. Food came out warm not hot they need someone proper to run the kitchen. One person behind me was only getting fruit t.cake brew was told 40 min . Omg please sort kitchen staff out no one should ever wait that long fit fruit t. Cake . If I go again I will find another cafe to go to.

Good food, reasonably priced. However, the seating area has expanded beyond the catering capability of the small kitchen, leading to undesiraby long waiting times.
