Really great shop and well stocked. Friendly staff. Unfortunately the Hermes return printer not working when I called in. I know this is a common problem with Hermes equipment.

Very disappointed, tried to post a parcel twice from here and both time I have had a rude rejection. First time they claimed they can’t take any more parcels and second time they claimed the parcel was too big even tho it was well within the Hermes specification. I understand the reason why they only want small parcels because they can take more parcels and make more money but it is against Hermes policy. I have posted thousands or parcels from many different drop off location and have never had such useless service. Do not go here!!!!!!

This is without doubt the best local shop; have been coming here for years and cannot fault the variety of stock/products, and they have excellent customer service. I needed them to drop off a food parcel to my mother in law a few months ago, when their household had covid, and the team at Blake's were most accommodating. Would highly recommend as the owners and staff are always friendly and engaging.

Nice shop but the parcel side of things seems to let them down a bit. I don't understand why they choose to have hermes/EVRi services when they clearly hate when people have to bring in parcels. The owner/manager was verbally angry with the cashier for accepting parcels - when he was just doing his job. Its a shame because the manager clearly saw the situation with the woman before me bringing in a number of parcels, so he could've stepped in rather than having a go at the cashier after the situation happened. Then to make your staff members visibly uncomfortable by being told off in front of other customers isn't nice. Left a bad taste in my mouth and doesn't make me want to return. I'll be actively avoiding sending parcels using EVRi because using your shop always makes me feel like it's too much trouble.

Do not use Blake’s Corner for any returns or pick up of parcels. It will be my last time.

Firstly, for collections, on the few times I’ve used them I’ve been told to route through piles of parcels and haven’t had to show proof of ID.

Secondly after my experience of returning parcels at approx 17:15 today (Wed 4th Jan( I will never use their service again, and if they were not privately owned I would be advising the manager to review the CCTV footage.

I entered the shop and the manager told me that my parcels were too big. I had 2 medium size boxes. I could see that if they moved around their existing parcels there was plenty of room for at least 5 more medium size boxes. When I stated this the manager told his sales assistant to “just do it, it wasn’t worth the hassle” and the manager then left.

The sales assistant turned his back and started swearing as he rearranged the parcels, when he turned back around he continued to be rude, argumentative and confrontational, still unwilling to accept the parcels.

At this point I asked why they offered this service if they were so unwilling to provide acceptable customer service for it, nowhere online states there’s any restrictions to height or weight and therefore the service I had received was unacceptable. With a few customers now entering the store he seemed to realise his lack of professionalism and half heartedly said sorry.

Please avoid if you can.

Nice refit, but really let down by their Hermes / Evri offering. The last 3 times I have tried the machine it hasn’t worked and every time the staff have just shrugged their shoulders. The one occasion this year the machine worked, they watched me book it in, print out the label and then told me that they were full and couldn’t take the parcel so I’d have to go to Cambridge Road. Just annoying.

Refused to honour advertised prices. Requested a bottle of Tanqueray 10 (70CL) priced at £20.00. On scanning the item I was told the price had changed to £41.25 and that "deal had finished". I inspected the display ticket, £20.00 was the correct price for item referrenced. It was accepted I was correct but they refused to honour it anyway.
(response to owners reply) The fact the item was on promotion was not "clearly indicated", neither was there an expiry date. The sales assistant removed the label after scanning the item. I asked to take a photo but the asistant threw the label away and was unwilling to retrieve it. With ever increasing prices?! Over 100% addition, pull the other leg.

Absolutely cannot fault this place at all. I’ve been coming here for a number of years and have always been met and welcomed by the most lovely staff. I’ve been reading through some other comments and can honestly say that I am disheartened with the negative reviews left - which in fact are nothing to do directly with Blake’s, but with Hermes!! Regardless, I’ll be continuing my shop and visits here! Great team and great store - definitely worth more than 5 Stars!
