Having just moved to the area, several people had recommended this garage for everything on my MGB. I was pleasantly surprised when taking my car for its annual MOT. Malcolm Beer has a great sense of humour as well as being friendly and knowledgeable. He gave me lots of free advice on what work would be needed in the future, including jobs that would save me money in the long run. He wasn't touting for work, as he showed the jobs I could easily do, and those I could leave until later.

I will certainly be asking Malcolm to look after my car, and would recommend him to all MG owners.

I recently took my car in for it's MOT and they were kind enough to be able to fit me in at last minute, which was helpful. However upon picking my car up, they had carried out some work on my car, that I knew had needed to be fixed, however the garage did NOT call me for authority and took it up0n themselves to carry out the work in order for my car to pass it's MOT. Therefore incurring additional costs of over £150.00 that I was not expecting and thus causing me some financial trouble for the remainder of the month until my next 'pay day'. On the day of the work, I had to be somewhere and did not question this at the time. However upon calling the garage today and speaking to the owner Malcolm, he was very abrupt, rude and put the phone down on me. I had only taken my car here through personal recommendation from my Step-Dad as he has used the garage several times for his business fleet. I was shocked and frankly disgusted that the owner himself of the business would treat a paying customer with such high disregard and not seem to care what kind of name he gives his own business. Therefore I would NOT recommend Beers of Houghton, nor their 'Sister' garage in Wyton - Camp Garage to anyone and I will certainly be taking the matter as far as I possibly can.

Unhelpful, just not interested in business. Was going to ask to supply and fit if they could source parts. Having informed them I couldn't get parts online as out of stock with no date for being available, he suggested I try online. Then said yes we have those parts, but for our cars, we'll only use them to keep our cars on the road.
