Called in today on a cycle trip home with my m8. Latte and cappuccino ordered and 2 x cakes.
Well all I can say is The Eccles cakes are FANTASTIC, great service from the 2 ladies who was serving 👍👍👍.

2 Wrong coffee brought over got 1 exchanged both were poor very week then one lady started sweeping up while we drinking lots of dust under display cabinets think they wanted to be aware home

Visited today and was met with such a rude miserable faced young girl. She struggled to speak a word or raise a smile. We ate in. She gave us 2 cheese sandwiches but had forgotten to add salad. When I mentioned this she grunted and took them away. No apology. Put them back on the table. No “ sorry “. No knife to cut it. Had to ask for serviettes. No knife to cut a viennese finger. I was going to ask her for one but she was fiddling with her earrings so I decided against it. 🤢. To top it all I had a tomato seed in the bottom of my cup ( I’d not eaten tomato ) so clearly she gave me a dirty cup. If you can’t be BOTHERED to raise a smile and be polite to your paying customers who actually pay your wages , you ought to be looking for another job. You also need up to date training on hygiene. Picking at your earrings whilst working in a cafe is not acceptable.

What a find!!!Had to go to goole hospital. Needed a cuppa and a bite so went into Howden. What a fantastic place! The cafe menu is extensive, everything from toasted teacakes to full English breakfast and very very reasonable prices, and fantastic value. The sandwich menu is amazing eg, special on Thursdays, chicken and bacon with lemon mayonnaise. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. Another example is, any hot pie or pastie comes with mushy peas and gravy 👍!!Will be going back to Howden for a proper look around to explore, but will call at Atkinsons first to eat and drink. Staff absolutely first class and very very helpful.
