Aimee was so helpful. Delayed taking her break so she could help me. Ollie was amazing. Was fitting a temporary wing mirror glass for me and came up with a really innovative solution. Was so happy as i gave to travel over weekend and was dreading not having a drivers side mirror. They were both knowledgeable courteous and so keen to solve my problem. Ollie went far above what was expected of him. They are a real credit to your business and deserve recognition

Went to Halfords following prolonged battery problems with a battery bought around a year ago from them. I was told by my local garage that it was a battery problem and as such went to Halfords to see if they could support me with this as my battery has a five year warranty with Halfords. A battery test was carried out by one of the fitters ‘Owen,’ who was adamant that it was an alternator issue rather than the battery itself. When I showed receipts and paperwork from my very experienced local garage/mechanic suggested it was a battery issue, it was very swiftly dismissed and any further discussion or questions were met with hostility and a rather dismissive attitude. Any discussion was pointed towards the warranty papers and I was told that I did not meet the threshold to claim the warranty to receive another battery. Owen did not support me or make me feel very welcome as a customer and left me with more questions than answers. My local garage stayed open longer than usual to try help me resolve this whereas Owen made me feel like their efforts to try and support me were insignificant.

I left the store very late and felt like I had wasted my time. I went back to my garage today (12/09/24) who thankfully ran more tests to double check that it was a battery issue rather than an alternator issue, going above and beyond again. Their tests led to the same results. My local garage then spent the next 20 minutes on the phone to Josh, one of the other more qualified fitters at Halfords who had told my garage that I can pop down to Halfords so he could have a look to try and support the situation.

I could not be more grateful for the service that Josh provided me, he was clear and concise with exploring the issue I had with my battery and had immediately found the issue lied with my battery rather than the alternator in minutes. Josh was very positive and welcoming, making me feel valued as a customer and fitted the new battery for me. Josh was very supportive and I cannot thank him enough for his service.

Following the two day ordeal of back and forwarding between my garage and Halfords, Josh was able to provide me a resolution and I was more than happy to pay for that service, which is in comparison to the stressful and confusing situation that Owen had left me in the day before.

Required a new car battery, easy to purchase and booked for this to be changed at the shop. Josh was professional, polite and friendly. Seemed to change a tight fitting battery with ease. Well worth the extra fitting cost.

Thank you for a really positive customer experience. I visited your Dartford store today. The staff were cheerful and exemplary.
On top of all the good customer service I bought a car paint can which was a perfect match for our car. I had bought one earlier from another company with the same paint code and it didnt match.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS SHOP!!!!
Please be mindful that if your car is being serviced at Halfords for more than 2 hours, you will receive a parking charge notice of £100 (reduced to £60). It is futile to communicate with them as they are unhelpful. The manager is impolite, conceited, and unprofessional. He will dismiss your concerns and suggest contacting Halfords Customer Service, who also offer no assistance. They have evidently lost concern for their customers, so I will steer clear of their stores in the future.

Visited the Dartford store today. The battery on my mini Cooper wasn't recharging and wouldn't restart when turned off. I was seen by a female member of staff working on the spare parts counter. Her approach was unfriendly, unprofessional, unhelpful, lacking in knowledge, compassion or empathy for the situation I was in! The battery couldn't be replaced as my car was stop n start. I was told I needed to go to a garage, which I accepted. However the issue escalated as after explaining my car was not starting and parked in the car park. She said I had two hours to remove it. I continously explained that I couldn't restart the car because the battery was dead. She then suggested I spend approx £60 on a jump lead set. I asked whether there was anyone who could assist in starting the car so I could get home and was met with hostility and a complete lack of understanding or comprehension for the situation I was in. I left the store to phone my husband and was approached by a friendly member of staff who apologised for the manner in which I was dealt with and said he would help me try to restart the car. Luckily after a few attempts we managed and I got home safely. I have never ever experienced this level of poor customer care and service. If this is a true representation of this store then I will never return. I understand protocol for what the store can do but I wasn't shown any kindness or understanding from this member of staff and I strongly recommend she goes on a customer care course or alternatively a role in the organisation where she doesn't interact with the public. Very disappointed and let down customer and had my car not restarted as a lone female could of potentially been placed in a very vulnerable situation.

got road angel dash cam fitted here for 80 GBP. well done with installation.
later went to check an issue with reverse lights. They told me that some cars have one reverse light and one rear fog light. did not charge me anything for the later one.
overall good service. nothing much to complain about unless you are splitting hairs.

My experience with Halfords has been very disappointing, and this isn't the first time l've had issues with their service. I booked a dash cam installation for my car and left it at the store. The installation was completed, and I paid for the service in full.
However, two weeks later, I received a parking penalty of £100 from a parking company. This penalty came as a complete surprise, as I was not informed about any parking restrictions when I left my car at Halfords. I contacted their customer service for help, but they were completely unhelpful and did nothing to resolve the issue.
This has been a terrible experience, and I'm left feeling frustrated, not only because of the penalty but also due to the poor customer service. I've had other bad experiences with Halfords before, and this might be the last time l use their services.
Received a £100 parking penalty.
• No warning about parking restrictions.
• Customer service was unhelpful and didn't offer any assistance.I

"Before writing this review, I contacted customer service six times. I provided all my details to five different representatives, and each time, I was promised a callback and a resolution. However, after six months, nothing has been done, and I'm still waiting for a solution. Today, I decided not to contact customer service again because I haven't seen any progress or new information. I'm very disappointed with the lack of communication and support."
