A boot fitting experience par-excellence! My wife needed new boots and arranged a fitting appointment. It took about an hour but what attention to detail, advice and knowledge was provided during that time. We left with a very good fitting pair of boots and insoles that will last for years without giving any problems! Fantastic service!

Boy, he really earned his money! James, the owner, spent over 2 hours ensuring just the right walking boots for me. I’ve REALLY difficult foot problems, yet he managed to fit new boots over wide feet with bunions, hammer toes, narrow ankles, and a Morton’s neuroma! I’m no spring chicken, but no one has ever given me a fitting with such good attention to detail. Thank you James. I now have walking boots that are comfortable, and not 2 sizes too large!

Quick update: I bought hiking boots here three weeks ago. They are absolutely perfect! Now I understand why people come from all over the country to get their boots properly fitted 🙂

I live here. I hike. This the best shop for miles around!

I just bought a new pair of boots here. They cost £0.01 more than the manufacturer's website. That £0.01 bought me a full fitting service from an expert boot fitter (it took an hour) and I Now have my perfect boots!

It's the hub for local hikers. Maps and routes you won't find anywhere else.

Ordered shoes in the sale, size 6. Arrived very quickly, well packaged. Unfortunately this style of shoe was too small. The store allowed me to return for a full refund. Great communication and customer service. Would purchase from this store again 🙂

Wonderful customer service: Ordered a flask in a very hard to find colour for my friend's birthday, only to discover I had filled in the wrong delivery address online. On receiving the returned item, James and Emily very kindly reposted it to me using a speedy delivery service and at no further charge to me. April 2024 Bought a pair of walking trousers. They were really helpful and found my size quickly. I was out on a hike when the trousers suffered a zip malfunction at about 4:45pm, so needed to buy promptly. Was sorted out and on my way quickly. Much appreciated. Thanks.

We recently called in to the Outdoor Depot on our way home back down to the southwest, looking for a new waterproof jacket for my wife. We were served by a very nice lady who was knowledgeable and helpful and who let us browse through her stock without any 'hard sell'. My wife found just what she was looking for and couldn't have been happier! We'll definitely be back, next time we're passing through.
