My sister moved to the area from the US about 6 months ago, and I recently made my first visit. She lives close to the store, which I visited on the first or 2nd day of my trip. It was a nice, quaint store with a lot of items (food, flowers, etc.) for being what it was. But that's not why I'm leaving a 5 star review.

A few days later, I wandered back as that sister had a birthday that was quickly approaching. It's hard to send gifts, let alone make them personal, when overseas. Money is "easy" but it's cold and soulless. I wanted something better, and without knowing a lot of local alternatives I asked if they did flower arrangements. I told them what it was for, the circumstances involved, and they were extremely helpful. When her birthday came, she received a beautiful arrangement was was amazed with the quality. Needless to say I was too.

Thank you, Chilham Shop, for helping to make my sister's first birthday away from home a little more special. She, our family, and especially myself greatly appreciate it!

It is a lovely Aladdin's cave of a farm shop: newspapers & household essentials, vegetables that look like they've never seen dirt, gorgeous looking fruit, & Kent & East Sussex produce that would make a lovely gift or a souvenir after a nice day out somewhere nearby. It was our first visit, spent quite a bit, but the Snow Queen at the counter that afternoon has unfortunately probably made it our last. Think icy, chilly, frosty, unfriendly, unwelcoming. She may as well have thrown the receipt at me, such was the speed at which it was thrust in my direction. Didn't even return my goodbye. Then after a few moments muttered "bye" to the air. So much for the advertised polite & friendly service.

I love this shop and it has some great products... but i picked up a bag of apples which were supposed to be local Cox apples last Saturday and I've already thrown one and a half out due to being rotten, and I was just about to use a couple in a salad this evening and most of the rest of them will be going into the compost as well as they are all soft/bruised. Was I just unlucky this time? Maybe, but I will be very cautious about buying my apples there next time. They also don't seem like any cox's I've eaten before, usually cox's are sharp and crispy and succulent, these are powdery and tasteless.

It’s a joy when you find a farm shop that has everything ….I do feel that promoting up and coming of new foods with in kent and local promotion would be an exciting idea…. Get rid of the old biscuit ?

Lovely little village shop, friendly staff. They have all the essentials, plus local produce and some lovely bakes. The shop brand nuts have been soft at times so I would check the sell by date which may have just been missed. The only issue is the parking as the entitled locals seem to think they can park directly in front of the entrance, blocking anyone else from safely exiting! Luckily I have a small car ! ? otherwise it is a lovely experience.

A different type of shop in that it sells many different products. Plants, garden ornaments, local fruit, small produce of bacon, sausages and pies not to mention a good variety of cakes and buns. A little more expensive than chain shops but all that we have bought has been top quality. Sadly we don't live nearby.
