Quite good for a medium size co-op. Everything laid out fine, good staff etc. Only handy to pick up a few bits i.e wouldn't recommend full shop there. There is one major problem though, there are about 5 or six self service checkouts (which is good) but only 1 belt with checkout person. Now if I need to buy cigarettes or get scratch cards etc I must wait about 10 to 15 minutes for que to clear just to grab them and go which usually there is a fair size que every time. Management need to sort this problem out.

Go at 6pm for serious bargains! None of the pubs really cater to vegans, so decided to go in the co-op for food i could take back to the campsite I was staying in. They were in the process of marking everything down and I got over £10 worth of food for £4 🙂

Only one person on till. One doing stock check. 3 self-service tills available. Busy. People choosing not to use self-service cos after scratchcards, etc. I wanted these & want personal service not doing job which loses someone the chance of an assistant's job.

Expensive, a small percentage of staff are quite helpful but remainder are rude and surley. Plus you have facial recognition system which I find offensive and intruding. The Co Op are not as ethical as they make out.

However, if you vist the Whaley Bridge store its a different story, the staff are wonderful.

I am a Co Op member

Like to shop at Chapel en le Frith Co-op. Staff are friendly and it is very 'local'. However, just about every fresh item is plastic wrapped, so I think a large bin for customers to return non recyclable plastic would be a step in the right direction.
