Found this place by accident whilst on a little adventure. It was a cold day, so the open fire/stove was lit. Beautiful little bakery with good food. The bakery selection looked good, too.

I was so pleased when I got to Kirkby Lonsdale and found out that the café at the Lunesdale Bakery had reopened, because when I visited the town last year we were told that it had closed and was operating as a bakery only. This has always been my go-to café in Kirkby Lonsdale so I was really excited to go for lunch. It was actually quite quiet despite it being peak lunchtime (12:30) but I put that down to the weather being so lovely and people choosing to eat outdoors or picnic. I was immediately shown to a table and told the soups of the day without asking, which was really lovely. I opted for tomato and red pepper soup with a ham, cheese and pickle granary roll (which was freshly baked and it was delicious) and a hazelnut latte. The soup and sandwich arrived within 5 minutes of me ordering which was fantastic. The soup was fresh and generously portioned (so much so that I struggled to finish it) and the granary roll was very generously filled. It was more than worth the value at just over £10. I look forward to returning soon!

Wow! I only dropped in for a light bite and a drink and was pleasantly surprised at what was on offer.
The choices our party had tasted fantastic, and is probably in some part to the food being cooked on the premises.
We were so impressed by the quiche that we'll calling back on our way home to buy some to take with us!

We stopped for a coffee/tea and cake as we'd bought some products on Monday to take away and although the server was a bit brusque & unfeiendly, the pecan pie and Florentine were lovely & the other cakes all looked fantastic.
You may think prices are expensive when you look at the menu but I think it's worth it for what you get. Today we had jap meringue and coffee renoir with a tea and latte. Wow, the cakes were delicious. We had half each of each. The renoir was large so I'm glad we shared it. The meringue was just the right amount of chewy. The latte was large and in a lovely mug whilst I got 2 cups of good tea from the pot and you could ask for more hot water or tea bags.
We would definitely recommend this lovely bakery!

This place has always been a favourite of mine whether I’m just popping in for a sandwich and cake to take away or sitting in to eat. Good food costs money so don’t expect Gregg’s prices.

Staff were so friendly, amazingly good food, great value for money, huge portions, we got the beef and onion ciabatta which came with one of the best side salads I've ever had- I got half of mine to take away as I couldn't finish it. Saw them giving out dog treats as well which was a nice touch.

I won’t be coming back here in a hurry. Bought a sandwich today and it’s made me really ill. Felt fine up until eating it and had nothing since. I just hope the sandwiches are made fresh daily and not left overnight to be sold the following day.
