Wow! Who would have thought you'd find a place like this in a little village in Yorkshire! 🥳

It's eclectic, it's vibrant and has an amazing atmosphere! 👌🏻🎉

The food was excellent and the Buddha bowls are just what's needed when you've been out walking 🚶🏼‍♀️🚶‍➡️and in need of some veggies! 🥦🥕🥔🫑🧅

The brother and sister team are so friendly, welcoming and gave exceptional service. 👌🏻😊

There is some parking close by 🚙 but may be better to walk or get a taxi if you're local or staying locally. 🚖

The big plus.....dogs are welcome! Be aware though that if your dog is nervous or gets stressed easily, it can get a bit noisy! 🐶 🐕

Lovely selection of local gins, beers and desserts. 👌🏻😋 🍸

They also have a lovely little beer garden 🍻

An all round awesome place that is clean, nicely decorated and and serves great food! 😊 😋

The staff couldn't of been any better very welcoming and polite always happy to make a conversation and very attentive the food is unbelievable and so is the cider! Highly recommend this place to anyone who is visiting as I did will surely be coming here again! Made mine and my partners anniversary very special!

The festive burger is arguably one of the best burgers I've ever had. The lady who saw to us was very attentive and gave our 13 month old daughter a lot of attention, which always goes a long way. After quizzing the chef on the seasoning used on the fries (some sort of chilli salt which was delicious), he went to the kitchen and brought me a small plastic tub full of the stuff to take home with me. Lovely evening, would definitely recommend!

We had our whippet with us, it was quiet so he was happy to chill out while we had a couple of beers and some food.
Burgers we're delicious. Beer was spot on and really friendly atmosphere.

We had a poor experience when we visited Peaks and Troughs on Saturday 3rd May 2025. The poor experience was largely down to the poor service and atmosphere in the restaurant, rather than the food and drink.

Our visit started well, but was greatly impacted by the arrival of a large group of young men, apparently part of the local football team. The group of about 20 men were incredibly loud and rowdy, and had little respect or regard for the customers dining in the restaurant. The group were so loud that it made having a conversation at the dining table impossible. One of the men even approached our table in a drunken state for a conversation, something that was not welcome. Whilst I do not blame the staff for this behaviour, as that is out of their control, the way the staff dealt with this interruption was poor and, in my opinion, not acceptable. Rather than respecting the experience of the dining customers, the staff did not challenge the group of men or ask them to maintain a reasonable level of noise in the restaurant. Instead, the staff served the men without challenge, something that led to approximately 20 minutes of disruption. After the men moved to the beer garden, the staff offered a small apology, but this did not appear sincere and was inadequate given the level of disruption. There was no further compensation offered for this disruption, which was also disappointing, given the length and severity of it.

To add to these issues, we also experienced a long wait for food. It took 45 minutes for starters to arrive, and 1 hour 15 minutes for our mains (4 burgers) to arrive. When the food did arrive, it was adequate, which is the only reason for a two star review rather than one. Additionally, we were celebrating a special occasion - a 60th birthday - at the restaurant; something that I noted on the reservation form. However, no effort was made to acknowledge this by the staff, not even a simply "happy birthday", which would have been nice as an acknowledgement of our choice to celebrate this occasion at their restaurant.

Additionally, the staff offered little opportunity to provide feedback at the end of the meal - there was no "How was everything?" question asked. This prevented us from addressing these issues during our visit, which we duly would have done, given the opportunity.

Overall, the food was adequate, but the service and atmosphere in the restaurant was incredibly poor and our experience was negative. I would recommend that Peaks and Troughs better market themselves as either a restaurant or a drinking establishment, or, at the very least, better respect the dining experience in the restaurant area of their venue. Unfortunately, due to these issues, I would not recommend dining in Peaks and Troughs and would not return.

Absolutely amazing! Super lovely staff and the best ever burger I have ever had! We live in Manchester and in Ingleside for the weekend BUT we are planning to drive here on another Saturday just for the amazing food and atmosphere and staff. Highly recommend big time! Absolute gem!
