Nice little market, but sadly too clean. I like a market with lots of noise and activity, since the move this has gone, but happily many of the best traders remain, Jim the barber, The tailors, the seafood stall and the jewellers are the best around. just make the place more lively

Open air with many sudden surprise alleyways for escape making you wonder who is around the next corner. Wish they hadn't moved it, it now not near transport links and is next to a general supermarket and a Woolies style supermarket, both of which are open 7 days offering identical produce. Gains two stars for brill fruit & veg stalls.

Not much outlets for what I wanted I had to go to Romford instead. Basildon market traders are friendly if they haven't got what you came for some of them would go out their way to say come back next week darling.
