I visited Wivenhoe House Hotel restaurant with my mother for an afternoon tea to celebrate her 75th birthday.||The warm greeting at the hotel reception was only the start of a fantastic experience.||The restaurant staff were welcoming, polite, friendly and helpful. The table was decorated with confetti for the occasion and my mum was surprised with a slice of cake for her birthday! Every member of staff we encountered made sure they wished my mum a happy birthday and made an effort to make her feel special. There was even a card from the hotel wishing her a happy birthday too, all of which were nice touches.||The prossecco afternoon tea itself was very enjoyable. First of all, we were offered a glass of prossecco. We then went on to enjoy the selection of sandwiches, scones and cakes on offer, which tasted freshly made and very delicious! We were given a box to take the cakes we didn't manage to finish.||Inside, the restaurant is modern and clean and very well decorated. The toilet facilities were also very clean||We ended the afternoon with a relaxing walk in the grounds outside. We enjoyed sitting by the water, looking at the daffodils and relaxing. The hotel was a sight to behold on a wonderful backdrop of nature and the sunshine we were lucky to have on the day we visited. ||We both loved the whole experience and will definitely be back!

I stayed here for a business event. The hotel in based on the university campus but not near any of the buildings so there is no noise, but it does mean there are shops and cafes in walking distance. The building and bedrooms were beautiful and the shower was perfect. I ate lunch and dinner in the restaurant and the food was lovely and the staff welcoming

We were lucky enough to attend the Mother's Day Afternoon Tea last Saturday. Not only a tempting array of sandwiches, sausage roll, scones and cakes and a welcome prosecco, but also a really good Michael Bublé tribute entertained us all throughout the meal. All staff were helpful and happy. Thoroughly enjoyed it and will definitely be back.

Always a great stay. 3rd time, each time a different room, all so individual. This time room 104 in the newish building. Nice balcony, though it was chilly, blanket/throw or cushions on chairs would be a nice touch. The chocs on bed, not standard, was from my other half. However, I do always ❤️❤️❤️ their Towel Art. This time a bear and elephant. | We had dinner in the restaurant...lovely as always, stuffed bellies and fantastic service. Thank you Bev.| Breakfast in the morning just as good. Mo was our greeter and she was Fab, really friendly and personable.| Great sleep, Great Hotel, Great staff and Lovely environment...no wonder John Constable painted it 😍

We celebrated our intimate wedding in April .All staff from Lisa our wedding coordinator, waiters , waitresses, reception and chambermaids were excellent, very polite, personable, attentive and professional. |The food was outstanding and the timing of everything went very smoothly. |Everything was perfect. We will definitely be back to celebrate our anniversary.|The hotel was beautiful, and the grounds were very well kept .

Last minute booking as we were working away. Got there mid evening and the staff were all amazing. I believe this is a training hotel for the university and wow their attention to detail is amazing. Every member of staff we passed created us warmly and that really makes the difference. When we checked in the lovely lady on reception couldn’t do enough to help nothing was too much. As it was a last minute booking our room still needed making ready and the lovely lady at reception took us through to the bar and got us a drink while we waited. Once we got to our room it was immaculate and very modern. Room service was on the ball and very prompt. Breakfast the next day was of a beautiful standard and the staff were extra welcoming. Overall an amazing place to stay and hats off to the staff they really made it lovely . Would 100% stay here again no questions asked.

We had the pleasure of being served by Mo at the Park Brasserie situated in Wivenhoe House Hotel, and she made it an enjoyable experience. The food was delicious, but Mo’s friendly and knowledgeable service really took it to the next level. Mo shared some fascinating details about the hotel’s history and answered all our questions with ease. It’s clear Mo genuinely cares about her customers through providing delightful service, so I really appreciated that. Highly recommend!

We visited the Park Brasserie for lunch. We all enjoyed our meal. They were able to cater for vegetarian, vegan, gluten free and sugar free if required. We were lucky that Mo our favourite waitress was on duty. She is very efficient, makes sure everything is perfect, and is a lot of fun to interact with. She is the main reason we return to the restaurant.
