I recently visited the Matlock Ghost Emporium, and it was an absolutely enchanting experience! From the moment I stepped inside, I was transported into a world of mystery and the supernatural. The atmosphere is beautifully eerie, with dim lighting, vintage décor, and an incredible collection of handcrafted ghostly artifacts.

Each item in the shop has its own backstory, making it feel like a mix between a museum and an art gallery. I especially loved the "Cutie Patooties", which added a playful touch to the otherwise spooky setting. The staff were knowledgeable and passionate about their work, sharing fascinating stories about the items and the local paranormal history.

I also attended the DIY Ghost Workshop, which was a fantastic hands-on experience. Creating my own little spectral friend while hearing about ghost lore was a unique and memorable activity.

I absolutely adore this shop. Parking is a bit confusing but definitely worth it to visit. The shop is beautifully set out and I loved the decorations. The only problem I had with the place was there were far too many ghosts that I wanted to take home with me, choosing between them all was the hard bit. Pete and Katie were lovely and the shop is doggy friendly so Loki didn't have to miss out, he definitely enjoyed the cuddles.
I will definitely be back again soon to adopt some more ghosts and to bring a friend who will love it.

This is such a fantastic little shop! Pete and Katie are so friendly and welcoming, and although we spent over 2 hours there, we never felt as though we'd outstayed our welcome! There was a huge range of ghosts to choose from (hence the 2+ hours 😅), each with their own unique and special designs, which you can clearly see a lot of effort has gone into creating! I love how much personality each ghost has, and the little stories that come with some of them are a really cute and unique touch! I loved the overall atmosphere of the shop - the spooky music paired with the decor and curious trinkets really brought a touch of magic to the whole experience! I also loved the little extras littered about - particularly the S.H.A.D.E. machine which made the experience immersive and fun. Overall it was a really enjoyable experience, and I am DEFINITELY returning to adopt more lost souls!

Visited this little gem yesterday for the first time, absolutely fell in love, so many ghosts to choose from, all shapes & different sizes, I was in awe. The owners were absolutely lovely & very helpful, going above & beyond. Came away with two beautiful ghosts. So can’t wait to go back again, would highly recommend.

Spooks galore! Lovely little shop in a historic mill.
Owner is much friendlier than you'd expect for someone who will offer to pop a spooky soul into your newly purchased ghost!
Overall a very nice experience from start to finish and I left the proud owner of 3 freshly minted spooks.

My mum and I went to the Paint a Ghost workshop, and it was fantastic! The staff were incredibly helpful, always ready to assist with anything we needed. My mum crafted a Dracula ghost, while I created a Harry Potter ghost. There were so many colours and accessories available to design unique creations! I’m already looking forward to booking another session in the future.

Really enjoyed our conversation with the owner. A little different to find. A little bit steep getting into the building but once on the ramp it is quite accessible for an old building. Recommend if you’re a wheelchair user like myself you take someone with you to help. Well worth a visit! Amazing setting!
