The service here is always great. Today I had coffee and Mars Crunchie. They were very good value. They do table service. It is dog friendly.

My husband and I (and Dave the dog) really do love this tearoom. Great service by attentive staff, a truly fantastic location (superb for a pre/post dog walk) and the most fabulous food and drinks, consistently yummy every time we’re looking to treat ourselves!

Can totally recommend the sausage sandwich, the bacon/brie/cranberry toasted sandwich, the white hot chocolate and the chai latte.

Keep up the great work Owls Hill Tea Room, we think you’re absolutely amazing.

Such a Lovely Spot – We’re Lucky to Have Owls Hill Tearoom in Terling

Owls Hill Tearoom is one of those places that just makes you feel good as soon as you walk through the door. It’s warm, welcoming, and has such a relaxed vibe — you can tell straight away it’s run with care and a real love for what they do.

The selection of cakes is amazing. Honestly, every time we go, there’s something new and delicious to try. Whether you’re into rich chocolatey treats or something a bit lighter and fruity, they’ve got it covered. Everything always tastes so fresh and homemade — it’s hard not to want a second slice!

The coffee is just as good — really tasty, smooth and made properly. Whether you’re into a strong espresso or just want a comforting flat white, they know what they’re doing. It pairs perfectly with the cakes, of course.

One of our favourite things about this place is the outdoor seating area. On a sunny day, it’s just lovely to sit outside, sip your coffee, and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. It’s tucked away enough to feel like a little escape, but right in the heart of the village.

And the staff? So friendly and down to earth. There’s always a smile and a warm welcome, and it never feels rushed or impersonal. It’s the kind of place where you feel like a regular, even if it’s your first time.

We really do feel lucky to have something like this in Terling. Independent places like Owls Hill bring so much character and charm to the village. If you haven’t been yet, definitely give it a go — you won’t be disappointed!

This is a beautiful, magical place nestled in the beautiful essexian countryside - nice, cozy atmosphere indoors with ample seating outdoors as well.🔆
They have an impressive assortment of various hot and cold drinks and beverages and quite a few vegan options in the cake department as well.🍰
It's a total recommendation from me and i shall definitely return.
Keep up the good work ladies, i was really impressed with how well this place is run. 😊

Stopped as planned on a long cycle ride to warm up, it didn't disappoint! I had a black coffee with complimentary biscoff biscuit and delicious vegan cherry bakewell cake. Lovely cosy place and welcoming staff.

Hadn't been here for 2 years when it was only takeaway service at the threshold.
Now inside and outside service.
Picnic benches outside with draught screens.
And excellent choice of cakes available and I can recommend the hot bacon and sausage sandwich.
Staff are friendly and obliging. Popular for Sunday Elevenses.

It's open from 9 am on Saturday. Got there at 9:30 and we had the last two cream teas and the last three cherry flapjacks. My flapjack was excellent and the scones were pronounced good.
