My son had his party here today for his birthday. 2 minutes before our set time a member of staff came over and said he'd show us to the room, I said we were just waiting for 1 more person and he just stared at me and told the children to come which I found a bit rude (could have said "we'll get started and they can come down when they're here" or something along those lines instead of just looking at me and ignoring what i'd said)
Anyway the reason for the 4 star was fortnite wasn't updated (last update was 5 days ago) so out of the 1 hour they were supposed to have, my sons computer was updating fortnite for 55 minutes of it. I asked the person in the room why they weren't done before and he said "it costs too much electricity " which I thought was an odd answer but after speaking to management, they allowed an extra 30 minutes for them to play. Which was obviously much appriciated by me and the boys playing (but not so much by the parents who were waiting around as we arent local) Also a bit off a nit pick comment here but my son pointed out that it was wierd that none of the staff said happy birthday to him knowing it was his birthday, he said everywhere else he's had a party they make a fuss of him & say it so many times but here didn't say it once & the person in the room made him feel a bit uncomfortable by the lack of communication when he asked questions. However overall I'd definitely do another party here but not for a younger child & I'd call in advance to make sure the games have been updated

Remembering how much fun I had at Laser Quest back in the 1990s, we took our 8 year old and his friends along for a birthday trip. It was the responsible thing to do, taking part myself and checking they were all OK during the games. So the players included lots of 8 year olds, some cousins and a Dad in his forties. To my shame, the 9 year old cousin won in both games, mainly because he mercilessly preyed on the more timid youngsters while I tried to keep them involved.

The arena and reception are upstairs in the building above Newlands Shopping Centre. There's a 'Games Arena' with escape rooms and a computer gaming place as well. When we all arrived there was plenty of space where you enter, with tables and screens around the reception. Staff were really friendly and patient with the excited kids, so our two games were lots of fun.

It's a dark black room with zig zagging walls and dark hiding places, loud music plays during the games and occasionally smoke squirts out from a machine. You carry around a big laser blaster connected to an electronic waistcoat with lights and buzzers built into it. A screen on the gun flashes up information such as who shot you and your live ranking in the game. It's So much fun.

7 or 8 years old is probably the minimum age for a fun game, because it's dark, noisy and competitive in there. Some of the less confident kids were a little overwhelmed by it all. All ages from 9 and above are going to love it, right up to fully grown adults who dream of running round and blasting friends with lasers.

We booked two games, which takes nearly 2 hours to complete if you include; booking in all the kids and choosing their player names, the time it takes to get 8 year olds into the waistcoat things, game briefings, two 20 minute games and a rest in-between them. Despite not booking an organised Party package, they were really good and allowed us to hand out party bags and sing happy birthday. Brilliant site and loads of fun.

My son and his friends had a absolutely fabulous time at this venue to fully immerse into an hour of computer gaming followed exhilarating physical activity of laser tag. Staff was briliant to help young boys understand the rules of the games and supportive all around.
The boys had such a wonderful time that they all wish to go there again.

The people that work here really really make the place. I spoke to Luke over email as I had an issue with attending my original booking and he was very kind and understanding and went above and beyond in terms of customer service. Then, at the venue, the two employees working were absolute joy - so kind, patient and helpful - they made suggestions and helped with getting set up on everything and had a nice chat with us.

We played in the gaming area and on the VR. The computers were fast and had lots of games to choose from. We had some snacks and I was surprised that they were very reasonably priced. We’ll definately be going back at some point to try the escape rooms.

The venue itself is nothing extraordinary but this is a really really nice thing to have on your local high street - something fun and different to do for a few hours without having to worry about spending a fortune or making your way into a bigger town/city. I was surprised that it was really quiet when we went during the school holidays and we had the place to ourselves - it was great having the space, but I really hope this place gets lots of customers because they deserve it!!!

The staff were brilliant for my sons 7th year birthday party. They looked after them all and also allowed us to bring our own cake to celebrate with his friends. This is a great place to have a party and very well priced

Took my son and his friends here for a laser tag birthday party. Staff were really friendly and sensitive to the fact that some of the kids have never done it before. Jaz was especially helpful in booking the games and sorting out the food. Responsive to emails too.

I booked the Games Arena, Witham for a birthday party this week and from start to finish the service was brilliant. They tailored the party to suit the ages and additional needs of the party guests (6-10). Lauren was quick to send an updated invoice after I added extras on after the online booking and called to confirm all was correct. On the day the team supported the guests in changing games and using the VR. We were so impressed we also added laserscape on at the end of the day. We were able to reserve tables for food and cake. One little girl said it was "the best party she had ever been to" which was high praise indeed. I wouldn't hesitate in booking the Games Arena again. What an asset to Witham it is, in a town with very little for the children to do. Thank you once again and see you soon.
