Jewson Ely is always my go to, staff are friendly and helpful with whatever project I'm taking on. Deliveries are always spot on, drivers follow instructions on where to drop and let me know when they're on their way. Sales staff have great knowledge of the products and don't mind spending the time going through bits with you. Yard staff are friendly and approachable and will help you find anything you're looking for. I've also had a few tool hires and never had any issues.
Would recommend trade and public to try Jewson Ely 👍

Brilliant for all your building needs and great staff

The deliveries are always late. They often have things missing. They can't get you the missing bits for another week.
When you ask for a refund on the missing bits they agree but they're never process it.

You call up and ask for information and they say they'll call you back and never do.

They offer to get something in for you and then you call back later find out they never bothered.

So I drove down to purchase some cement. Twas a Saturday morning. The yard looked like a Tsunami had passed through. Really untidy. A chap in said yard did, without doubt, respond swiftly and cheerily to my request for cement. "No Sir, Clean out of stock. Be in Monday." There was no cement. NO CEMENT at a Builders Merchant. So on the Monday I placed an order online. Took my money and gave me delivery date of Wednesday. That was cool as planning to carry out work over upcoming Bank Holiday weekend.
Get to Tuesday and receive call from Kings Lynn depot saying that order has been bounced to them as Ely won't have stock. Fellow at Kings Lynn politely explains that they don't deliver to my area and that he will bounce the order back to Ely and put delivery down for Friday but he can't guarantee it.
Later in the day, not feeling confident about Friday, I call Ely where a fellow tells me that he happens to know that and they won't be getting an order until after the holiday weekend. I can only speculate as to who was planning to tell me. OK say I. Can I have a refund please. "You'll need to ring Kings Lynn for that". The man in Kings Lynn did apologise for the inconvenience and did make a point of telling me that any branch could do it but that he would sort it out. I know there are bigger issues afoot. Just such a waste of peoples time.

Driver and trainer delivered to my address. Trainer forced one of the already open gates further open and now the motor makes a nocking sound every time it closes.

Materials all fine. Clumsy delivery staff.

Soil pipe here using my account Is triple what both Travis and Screwfix charge in Ely. Spend wisely, the staff here aren’t in touch with reality. Bury St Edmunds branch on the other hand are excellent.

Very helpful and good stock availability. Could only have been a better experience if they could have delivered my gas bottles instead of me collecting

Overpriced for what we wanted. Their prices probably work best for trade customers but not for us. Also it's a weird premise with a stupid one way system. Not going there again.
