I booked Rum Doodle because of the customer reviews and was not disappointed. There's lots to praise about this B&B, but the standouts for us were the comfy bed, quiet and welcoming atmosphere, and heavenly breakfast.

Cosy Bed:

I usually struggle with B&B beds as they're usually very hard, yet this one was soft but with good support.

Quality Sleep:

I picked the attic suite as we are light sleepers and struggle with noise (particularly other guests snoring...). We were pleased our decision to book the suite paid off because we slept soundly and felt very peaceful in this room.

Delicious Breakfast:

Truthfully, the cooked breakfast is probably the best cooked breakfast I've ever had. The high-quality ingredients were apparent just from looking at the plate and this assumption was swiftly confirmed with the first bite. Hats off to the chef, as well as to the waitresses for their warm welcome and excellent customer service.

The only reason I've given 4 not 5 stars for the room was due to the low water pressure. The water cut out on several occasions while showering in the mornings and evenings, but thankfully always came back on within 30ish seconds, so I could rinse away the suds! I suspect many guests showered at the same time, so low water pressure is understandable at peak times and didn't in any way detract from the quality of our stay.

We would happily return to Rum Doodle and very much enjoyed our stay with thanks to all the staff for their warm welcome each day. It's a charming B&B with lots to admire, so it's well worth booking if you're looking for an affordable yet high-quality place to stay in the heart of Windermere village.

Loved our room at Rumdoodle. Room 6 Shute. Very clean and comfortable. Nice quality bed linen. Amazing breakfasts. Well done chef. Friendly staff, bathroom needs updating but was very clean and the towels and robes were lovely. Tea, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits were all provided. Bonus was onsite parking.

Lovely boutique B&B. Drink offered when we arrived was a lovely surprise. Rooms and decor are boutique and quirky making a novel break. We had The Summit room which has a low ceiling for tall people but otherwise a lovely suite. Breakfast was a joy and extremely cheerful. The ingredients are good quality with tempting option including the English breakfast with a twist of a potato cake. Would go again.

Me and my partner had a wonderful stay here. The breakfast was exceptional, as was the service and the room itself was incredibly clean and comfy. They went above and beyond to make our stay fantastic. I didn’t even want to go out and explore , I was so happy in the room!

Me and my husband had a fabulous 2 night break here last week. The room was amazing and the breakfast was delicious. We loved that our breakfast was served in our room. This was a great touch. It's in a great location and the staff were super friendly and welcoming. I would highly recommend this b and b to anyone

We had an excellent stay at this well-appointed, conveniently located establishment. It's situated in a quiet neighborhood, but within easy walking distance of restaurants and shops. Breakfast was tailored to individual wishes and very well prepared. We look forward to a return visit.

We decided to extend our stay in the Lake District and our booking at Rum Doodle B&B was last minute.

We couldn’t have been more welcomed on our arrival, who offered us a glass of juice when we were shown our room.

Our king size room featured a two person dining table, already laid for breakfast the next day and our host kindly mentioned that breakfast would be served in our room in the morning and we had a breakfast card to complete.

The bed, one of the comfiest I’ve slept in was wonderful and the room was impeccably clean. The location of the b&b was great, lovely and quiet and an oasis to return to after a long walk in the lakes.

Thank you for your wonderful hospitality, we’ll certainly be back.

Me and my partner came to windermere for just two days and wanted somewhere affordable and comfortable to stay. To say we were stunned upon arrival is an understatement. The B and B felt authentic for the location and was decorated perfectly to represent its name. Plus they offer dvds, which i for one have never heard of before and found it quite useful and unique. The room had big windows which made the room feel light and airy, essential when staying in a smaller place.The bathroom looked almost brand new and the room was spotless. The bed was very comfortable and fresh along with the towels. Breakfast was lovely with so many options and the service was always so friendly and happy. We wanted to extend our stay just because of this B and B but sadly it was fully booked. Overall the place gave such a homely atmosphere and the decor gave the place such a different and aesthetic feel. The B and B was also in perfect walking distance to the towns and both nights we visited the crafty baa, which i highly recommend.I will definitely be coming again!
