We stopped into Booths to pick up dinner, snacks, and drinks during our stay in Penrith. Great selection of food. The staff here is extremely friendly and helpful. Our check out clerk, Mel, was such a pleasure to talk with during our check out experience. She was so engaging and you can tell that she really loved her job. Thank you, Mel!!! Highly recommend Booths Penrith for your grocery needs. We loved our visit.

We stayed at Penrith over the weekend, called into Booths for some food never been in before very pleasant store well laid out, the had a lot of food with reduced stickers on them and some very decent reductions to. Not by 10 or 20 p like all the others but some by nearly £2 purchased a few items for tea. Went back the next day and bought some microwave dinners again good price reduction. Really nice dinners to I can definitely recommend the sweet and sour chicken and my wife had chicken risotto both had plenty of meat again unlike other supermarket meals.
Very friendly staff and the store wasn't cluttered with rubbish or food waiting to be put out.
When we go back to Penrith booths will be our first stop for food

Up market supermarket with restaurant on top floor. Always well stocked and carries a large range of local foodstuffs and alcohol. Staff are very friendly, helpful and supportive. Restaurant does a great soup & bread deal. Soup is always lovely regardless of what flavours are on (usually choice of 2). Staff do a table delivery service if you're ordering the likes of chips and meals
There's always a choice of fancy gateaus on offer as well as tray bakes. Eating area is always neat, clean and comfortable. There's a choice of 3 areas to sit in. Toilet facilities are also on this floor.

What a gorgeous shop! We killed time in here whilst using the EV charger in the car park. You could spend a fortune, everything is so appealing! The deli counter particularly - enjoyed tasting the samples of cheese! There is a great choice of everything, got some really funny birthday cards and snacks. Unfortunately we were staying in a hotel down the road. Had we been self-catering I'd have done the week's shopping! There's a café upstairs, we didn't go in but it looked busy which is always a good sign.

On consecutive days the speed of service at the cafe was unbelievably slow. On a Sunday it’s understandable but it took 45 minutes to get a fish finger sandwich and a ham sandwich. I went again on Monday again the sandwich took 50minutes to not even arrive, in the end I had to cancel the order as I ran out of time.

This is nothing against the staff or the food, but there is some communication issue between the till and the kitchen, or just not enough staff. Hopefully easy to fix.

First time having lunch there, having been a few times for coffee. Took ages to provide lunch. For the price, it was not worth it. The quiche was a rather small piece with some brown sauce on the salad. The coleslaw and salad were sparse.

Had an excellent experience at this store as visitors to Penrith. Well presented store, less snobby air than M & S, loved the very nicely designed cotton tote shopper bags.

The cafe is light, airy and great value, with nice views from the large windows and quality fayre. Staff were pleasant too and as someone else has said, policy of employing folk with disabilities is brilliant too. I only wish there was a Booths store nearer to home in the North West.
