Visiting Windermere with my family and came to San Pietro for dinner and had the loveliest time !

The venue is lovely - looks beautiful from the outside and has a warm yet classy feel on the inside. The atmosphere was excellent and the decor is wonderful - the lemon tree by the front being a unique touch.

We ordered four drinks - two Peronis, a strawberry mojito mocktail and a blueberry cocktail (the name I can’t remember!) Both the mocktail and the cocktail were incredibly tasty and definitely worth ordering.

For starters, we ordered the tempura king prawn and calamari and the bruschetta trio. The seafood was tasty and we were able to switch out the blue cheese bruschetta for one of the other toppings - very accommodating to allergens. The bruschetta was perfectly toasted and the olive and tomato topping was refreshing and light.

For mains, we ordered two carbonaras, one duck confit from the specials menu and the tomato seafood pasta. Coming from a family of carbonara lovers - it was excellent. The duck confit was equally tasty, with the mash especially being creamy and smooth. The seafood pasta was rich and flavourful, and contained a multitude of seafood - prawns , mussels , clams and calamari. There was a plentiful amount of all the seafood meaning you really get your money’s worth.

I highly recommend visiting here if you are in Windermere - one of the best Italian restaurants I have been to !

Food was incredible and prices weren't bad compared to the rest of the town. Pictured is the seafood pasta and the chicken milanese. Service was a little slow and Americans be warned - you will get charged for still water.

I'm usually so picky with restraunts, but this place is so good, food was out on time, and it was absolutely beautiful. Brilliant staff, we're really helpful.

Was worth the 2.5 hr drive. I will come back next time I'm here

The restaurant went above and beyond to give me a special 30th birthday celebration! They had my table beautifully decorated and they even got me a card. Thank you San Pietro for such a wonderful experience for my birthday! ❤️

We loved the cozy environment, the staff is very friendly and the food was incredibly good! Every single dish we ordered was excellent, I was especially impressed with their Carbonara, one of the best ones I've tried! They have won several awards for their food, and you can tell the quality is brilliant. Definitely visit them if you're in the Lake District!!

Quite simply, if you're staying in and around Windermere - Book in at this restaurant.

We came to Windermere in November and found San Pietro to be fully booked on a Tuesday!
So when we came back this May, I knew to book in advance.
From welcome, to ambience, to service, to the wine and drinks list and last by no means least, to the food, this place has it all in bucket loads.

I hope the photos I've attached do the food justice, but simply put, this is proper food, done well, really well.
Each dish that I had (Souffle, Belly Pork and Cheesecake) were just fantastic representations of this restaurant, and in all honesty, I could have chosen 4 or 5 things from each section of the menu, and from where I was sat, I saw a lot of the other dishes going to other tables, that looked just as inviting, and much like my own plates, they all made their way back to the kitchen empty.

If you're expecting an Italian restaurant where you can get a garlic bread to share followed by an array of Pasta Dishes - San Pietro is not the place for you - This is proper, proper food, with Italian/Mediterranean inspiration running through it's very core.

This review is long enough as it is, but honestly I could dissect each dish in detail, and tell you all about the small nuances that make the service great - But just take my word for it and book in here - You will not be disappointed

A fantastic restaurant hidden away in Windermere, but once you’ve found it you’ll want to go back again and again. Wonderful food and fabulous service. Despite being on my own I was made to feel so welcome. I can’t recommend this place enough, but please don’t expect pizza as this is a proper restaurant with top notch food, drinks and cocktails. This will be my first port of call when I visit Windermere next time. Give it a go as you won’t be disappointed.

San Pietro is the best restaurant in Windermere. So good we came back for a second time during our stay. All the staff are friendly and welcoming. Some of the best service we have received in a restaurant. All the dishes we tried we're delicious 😋. We'll definitely be back. 5 star Restaurant.

We have tried to book in here on a number of occasions but it has always been booked up so we booked quite a while ago.
After our experience here we can fully understand why you need to book in advance!
The Restaurant itself is really lovely inside with a really nice, rustic décor. The Team are very friendly & attentive and the food is gorgeous.
I ordered Garlic Prawn starter & Mrs K ordered the dressed Goat's cheese with fig & pear and thoroughly enjoyed it. The Garlic Prawns were delicious with plenty of sauce to enjoy too
My Mother & Father in Law both ordered the Fillet Steak and I enjoyed a beef dish from the specials, Mrs K ordered wild mushroom ravioli with a creamy wine garlic sauce. She said it was the best dish she has ever had which is quite some compliment given the amount of times we eat out.
My beef was so tender I think I could have eaten it with a spoon and the gravy that came with it really complimented the dish.
The steaks were great and the sides that accompanied it were sumptuous too
We were all too full to even think of a dessert but we really enjoyed our dinners and we would definitely recommend this Restaurant to anyone!
Remember book early to avoid disappointment!
