So convenient! It has all the essentials and everything else you might need. As you exit the windermere train station on your far left you'll find the entrance to Booths. There's a quaint little cafe inside for you to take a break and a whole grocery store and a gift shop along with a delicatessan and a bakery. Great for grabbing a coffee and food before hopping onto the train or waiting for a taxi.

Great produce but at busy times of the year some products sell out quickly. Go early! Large car park with many rapid chargers.

The cafe is extremely disgusting. I had a breakfast set and drank coffee here while eating and waiting for the train. I hadn't finished my coffee yet, and a waiter, who was a bit older, told me that I couldn't stay and should leave. I don't understand. I came here to travel, and I also bought food. My train wasn't on time yet, and I didn't finish my coffee. Isn't it disgusting that you do this? And I said I could pay for more coffee here for the rest of the time, but he didn't agree. I'm 60 years old. Is it reasonable for you to do this?

Nice shop selling good quality products. The cafe was a little disappointing with only a very limited menu available. Not sure the reason for this.

An excellent shop, its like the Harrods food store of the North. A step up from Waitrose and the staff are great. I noticed a good number of fast chargers being installed on the car park, should be ready in the next few months.

Booths is a lesser-known Northern supermarket chain. If you come to Cumbria and want some high quality, interesting supplies for your rented cottage, Booths is for you. Lots of appealing local produce, well displayed. You can get a loyalty card too, but only an old fashioned physical one. I’d hoped to register and put it straight into my Apple wallet but you can’t do that - at least not yet. But this is the place to get a pleasant shopping experience and the good stuff.

Popped in at 10 to 6 to pick up some champers as a treat to ring in the new year but was met with three staff members on the door explaining that they’re closed. I responded by telling them they close at 6, not 10 to 6, to which they told me “we want to go home to celebrate the new year too”. I agree everyone deserves to enjoy their new year celebrations but if you’re open until 6 you can’t just clock off 10 minutes early because it suits you. In all my years shopping at Booths I’ve never experienced anything like this. A terrible way to end 2024, won’t be back anytime soon.
