This review is for the company as a whole not just this branch. AVOID!!! My experience is based on dealings with branch and head office.

I initially purchased a watch from here which I then needed to exchange due to the colour. An exchange was agreed on for an alternative watch. So I returned the watch back to the boutique I made the purchase at. Disclaimer* returns policy advertised online only applies to purchases made online and not at a boutique.

The watch was evidently unworn as the plastic wrap was still attached to the watch. When I took the watch back to the boutique it was inspected by a staff member at the branch. The watch was inspected out of my view. I was then told there was a scratch on the back. Which was odd as the watch did not leave the box. I was told the watch will need to be inspected again and someone from the team will get back to me. Later after another inspection I was told there were further scratches on the watch.

So this company either sold me a scratched watch or deliberately scratched the watch after the watch was left with them. I believe this was a deliberate attempt to refuse the exchange agreed. Later on the company refused to price match the watch I wanted even after agreeing to price match because of the scratches, which cost me a further £350. By this point I had enough and just agreed for the sake of resolving the issue.

So my advice to any customers this is not a trusted jewellery and watch specialist. So be very wary before parting with your money. If you have to purchase from here be sure to take a magnifying glass to inspect the item properly as you may be sold a damaged item. Not to mention the poor communication which prolonged things more than they needed to be, have a look at the evidence I have attached.

There is no way this is the UKs leading fine jewellery and watch specialist. Just have a look online you will see many of the items are overpriced to begin with and also have a look at their reviews. This has been the worst retail experience I have had in my life. If you don’t believe me, make a purchase from C W sellors and from Fraser hart and compare your experiences. I’ve never felt so victimised, patronised, mistreated and let down before.

This company has no honour, even if you have things in writing so be extremely cautious before shopping here. To conclude I paid more for a watch than I should have done because I exchanged a scratched watch that was sold to me. It gets even better, the watch I exchanged for arrived scratched on 27/02/2025. It took over a month for the exchange to be completed.

Not to mention the rude and disrespectful management staff at their head office. I don’t want anyone else to have an experience like this so please AVOID at all costs.

Great experience after spotting a ring in the window one afternoon, I wasn't planning on purchasing straight away but the ladies in store were so lovely and knowledgeable that I felt comfortable making a big purchase with them. I am really happy with the lovely ring I got and would definitely recommend the store to anyone looking to buy that special piece

The chesterfield store is quite interesting. A great stock of Oris, Longines and Tissot. No Seiko or Citizen etc so for a smaller shop you've got great choices of Swiss brands. They got in a couple of watches within a day from the larger group which is handy. The ladies that work there are really great and helpful. I know they're selling me expensive watches but they get the balance of professionalism and banter right. A quality company. I'm gonna try not to go back but...

I simply can’t recommend C W Sellors Fine Jewellery highly enough. We have visited their shops in Ashbourne, Bakewell and the boutique in Whitby, as well as contacting them via email and telephone, the customer service is always first class. Today we returned to Ashbourne, our third visit in as many months, to view a ring we had booked once to view. Demi had telephoned to confirm the viewing and was there to greet us today. As with previous visits she took time to show us the ring we had arranged to see. Following discussions and having been unsure of the fit and the width of the item, she showed us other options, both from stock and the online catalogue, until we decided on a custom made order. So, we will have to visit the store again: I can’t wait as this retailer, and their staff, set the standard for customer service.
