Peak Pharmacy - Chesterfield

I have been a customer of the Peak (Allendale Rd) pharmacy for about 4 years. In that time I have seen both very good service and poor service.

My burning question is - Why does the pharmacy close for an hour at lunch time? Surly there should be a staggered lunch break.
Most of the staff are friendly and professional, however, there are one or two who are a little surly and less helpful.

The processes and procedures appear a little slow and cumbersome, not the most effective that I have seen. On Thursday this week there were 8 staff and still a queue of Customers waiting.

I think the pharmacy could do with a little customer service training and process analysis. There is a lot of potential positives and it could be a very good pharmacy with just a few minor changes.

Hi I went to have a hearing test but had my ears syringed first.one of my ears the canal is very small but the lady doing the syringe work never gave up and was really polite and explained everything to me thank you again .

Reception staff here are not pleasant. Dirty looks when asking for a prescription sent in over a week previously. No consideration for anyone, asks about private medication really loudly in front of others more or less shouting across the small reception area. Everything takes a really long time. Normally wouldn’t post a negative review but the reception staff really are miserable and just downright rude and really let the pharmacy down.

It would be a rare day when you walk out of this place with what you went for.

Today was a classic example, I watched the two people in front of me leave empty handed , despite imploring the server and pointing out that he had ran out of tablets and the prescriptions had been sent mid last week , but was met with the insulting and well rehearsed ‘ we do require 5 working days’

Chatting to the guy behind me in the queue who advised I take deep breaths I said I have zero hope and I wasn’t disappointed… again

Also caught up with the guy who I was chatting with in the queue who despite receiving a text message telling him to collect - also came out empty handed and told to come back another day.

It’s not all the servers fault, but there is something fundamentally wrong here - either put up a sign saying ‘whatever you want it’s not ready come back another time nd your time means nothing to us’ or if you are brave - put up a link so your ‘customers’ can feed back on your appalling level of deliver

Once again they are missing an item and not for the first time or seventh. No notification before travelling and very unhelpful in fulfilling the prescription. I've never had a problem getting it from other local pharmacies. Think it's time for a change and travel a little farther to a different chemists

Very efficient, friendly, helpful staff. They get extremely busy but always try to help you best they can. Saw a lot of negative reviews saying they had to wait to get thier prescriptions, I always ring ahead to let them know I'll be coming & they always give me a time frame in which to collect it & have it ready waiting. Maybe other people should try this as they do get busy as it's the only pharmacy in Wingerworth. People should keep this in mind. Adrian, the senior pharmacist, is a lovely chap who gives you advice on how to take the medication, has always been nothing but friendly, as are all the other staff. I really like the choice of toiletries & are very reasonably priced, most times cheaper than the supermarkets. Also like the kids selection they stock, again reasonably priced. Would highly recommend this pharmacy.

2021 - I was informed that my rather important prescription was not available in any of the supply warehouses. I was only told this once I'd actually gone in to collect it. I was incredibly stressed and concerned about the prospect of not having what I needed. It was eventually sorted out but not without my pushing for it.
* They also close mid day for lunch but don't advertise this... why would they, its not a public service!
Feb 2024 - after years of trying to appreciate this pharmacy on our door step, the unfriendly, unwelcoming staff, disinterested customer care and the feeling you're always interrupting their day; led me to an online pharmacy who just do their job well. You're welcome.

Small and very busy but efficient and helpful staff. Very close to Dr's surgery and has a big car park. Also handy for amenities such as shopping precinct and has a lollipop lady at peak times so pretty safe for families and kids.
