We had the most amazing afternoon tea at Cambridge Carriages as a surprise birthday treat for my friend — and it couldn’t have been more perfect! From start to finish, the experience was absolutely delightful.

The setting is stunning — a truly beautiful place that feels both elegant and cozy. There’s also a convenient parking facility, which made the whole visit even easier.

The afternoon tea itself was delicious, with a lovely variety of savouries, scones, and sweet treats that were beautifully presented and full of flavour. Everything felt homemade and thoughtfully prepared.

A special mention goes to the lovely lady who looked after us (I wish I’d caught her name!) — she was so warm, attentive, and genuinely caring, constantly checking in to make sure we were okay and enjoying ourselves. Her hospitality made the day even more memorable.

Highly recommend for anyone looking for a charming and relaxing afternoon tea experience — we’ll definitely be returning!

Really enjoyed every aspect of this experience, the gardens leading up to the carriages are lovely, the 'station platform' has been recreated with lots of detail and thought, and once inside the carriage, you do feel you have taken a step back in time. The afternoon tea was fresh with a good selection, and the vegan option was just as delicious. The flowering teas are lovely, and there were plenty of drink options; teas, coffees, hot chocolate as well as alcoholic and non-alcoholic choices. A delightful way to spend a couple of hours!

Having won the valentine's competition It was so lovely to be back at carriages. I brought along a very good friend and we had a lovely time. The service and staff were excellent as always. Whenever I go for an afternoon tea anywhere else, I always compare it to carriages and so far nobody has scored as high. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Gorgeous afternoon tea, a treat for a lovely friend on a special birthday. The whole "station" and carriages are wonderful, a real step back in time elegance. The tea plentiful and hot, the food fresh and tasty the cakes perfect. One vegetarian, one meat eater, the staff very smart, friendly and helpful, no problems at all. An afternoon to remember.

The staff were so attentive and polite. Cannot fault our experience. We felt that we were on a moving train. All in all a wonderful experience. Will be returning again.

Love Carriages afternoon tea. I have done loads of afternoon teas and still think Carriages is one of the best. The different flavours and tastes are excellent. It's lovely to wander around the little garden and spot things growing that have been incorporated. The theming of the carriages, platform, ticket office and toilets all add to the experience. I think Carriages offers a really good value for money experience.

A lovely place to visit for afternoon tea.
Situated in a vintage style railway station complete with waiting room there is a choice of several carriages serving a great selection of sandwiches, scones and sweet fancies with a great choice of teas, coffee or alcoholic drinks.
If you are looking for something a little bit different, then this is for you!
